Rally Armor and Mitsu paint questions
Rally Armor and Mitsu paint questions
Instead of making two threads for separate questions, I'll merge it into one since they're both related.
I bought my Ralliart back in February of this year, so the car is only a few months old. I was cleaning the pollen off of it yesterday and noticed, even on silver, where rocks have flown up and hit the side of the car. I don't abuse this car at all, just a normal daily driver that I try to take care of. Along with the areas on the front bumper and hood that are also chipped, at this rate the car will be bare metal by next February. I'm not a fan of mudflaps on a car not intended for offroading but at this rate, I might not have a choice.
Question 1- What can I do about the existing chips in the paint? I know Mitsubishi has cheap paint and it doesn't help knowing that all manufacturers are now using "green" waterbased paint, which is tinner and more "environmentally friendly"...
Question 2- For those who have Rally Armor on their Ralliart, or any current generation Lancer for that matter, how well has it held up against road debris and preventing scratches/chips? I don't want to spend a lot of money on something that half-*** works against preventing body damage.
And question 3- does anyone with a silver Ralliart have these installed, and if so, can you post pictures of what it looks like? I've tried finding a good picture of a silver RA with Rally Armor but haven't been successful.

Buying the touch up pen from mitsubishiparts.net is really all you can do about paint touch up. I bought the pen for my front bumper & hood & it works pretty good. As far as the Rally Armors, I have them on my TB Ralliart & love them. I bought them for the winter and they really protect the side skirts & rear bumper....I would def suggest buying the urethane ones.

I can't say enough good stuff about the poly Rally Armour Flaps. I have them on my TB RA with the red lettering, they are perfect, and they stop all the crap from the road in all seasons from damaging your paint. You will be surprised! They are awesome and with some 245's you can fill them out. It gives the RA a nice stance especially with a nice drop of 1.2-1.5. Can't go wrong.

get a touchup pen to fix ur chips, as for scratches you will need to have them buffed out if they arent too deep. Im planning on getting RA's also because definitly better than nothing
How well do the Mitsu touch up paint pens work? Aren't those the ones that have the paint tip on one side and a clear coat applicator on the other? How the hell does that work? lol
