BR 2.3 - FP Black DBB - 36psi - E85
Ok read this for a good laugh. I was prepping the car to get ready for the track (last minute like always for some odd reason)..
I left the house by 7PM, normally it should only take about 30min to get to the track.. Well we didn't get there until 9PM like the slip says in the picture ill post at the end of this write up.
I deserve the retard of the year award.. and reason being is, we went 40 miles out of our way because i put in the wrong state into the GPS.. yes that is beyond stupid.
I didnt realize we were going the wrong way until close to 40 miles.. ridiculous. had it set to PA when it was supposed to be MD.
So we arrived at the track at 8:55 and i had the slicks on and stuff by 9:20pm. Track closes at 10.. lol
Someone hits the damn wall at the track! Great..... So i wait in line until 10:15pm to race.. Well I got only 1 pass and it had mistakes in it.. i hit the limiter in 2nd and my shifting was dog crap.
The boost was around 34psi at the strip (also my afr went 11.1-11.2 also from the boost change
). Now im debating on just throwing in the gsc s3 or going back to the strip to see what it can mph at higher boost.
I can get a comparison though between the cams if i keep everthing the same tho and just throw the cams on which i will probably do.. but might visit track this week.. not sure yet.
So below are some unedited videos and the slip and track info. I really hoped for something over 133 but i am happy for now because its the first 10 second pass the car ever made and i made in my life as well. I believe as it sits there is a 10.7 capable pass in there.. weather im able to do that i dont know.. but the shifting in the video below is horrible slow imo.
I was also nervous cause the trans was super notchy.. but seemed great down the track.
I also put in 75w110 before i left and that made it feel a bit better vs the 75w90.

the video is also comical. listen to the comments in it.
also, so you guys don't think im a complete idiot.. i reversed more at the end so i could roll the car forward
and remove the slack from the drivetrain before launching again.

My only question is: Was this the first time you going to the track? A free 80-mile round trip is crazy especially when trying to get someplace fun. I do think you are a front runner for the award you mentioned. As for the transmission, it seems like you are being a tad impatient about the break-in period as well as getting a true back-to-back test between the S2s and S3s as I am sure many are interested in your findings.
Congrats getting into the 10s! Funny vid with all the commentary. The car sounds strong and clean. Keep the Kelfords in there and get the most out of them first. Then change to the S3s. I think that would be a better comparision.
What I think you guys are forgetting this is the first time the new tranny has gone through the track and he really hasn't gotten on it at all. He was told to break it in as he did and this was his first pass with it. I mean he wasn't sure how it was gonna shift. I think even with his slow *** shifts car made it down the track pretty well. I think with a nlts or not granny shifting it he has plenty left in the pass. I am sure he has way more power in it too.

I was having a clutch engagement issue though right before pass.. the clutch would grab high then low then high.. it really made me paranoid.. so ill bleed that and check the stm fork stop. it might be hitting the fork itself again.
Thank you.

as far as the trans goes.. i think i was more nervous in messing the only pass i could get that night up so i didnt shift all out quick.. i also hit the limiter in 2nd which you can hear the car backfire. waiting in line for 30min to race though your nerves start to get to you. there is more in the car but im not gonna say anything else regarding what its capable of.. ill let it show me what its capable of next time at the track.
Ya so do i LOL. im gonna go back this weekend.
i also had 11psi in the slicks.. i think i had to low of air pressure.
Looking at the vid again, I'll bet you have at least a second and a half total in shifting time if you add up the three shifts up. Should be able to cut that in half for a low 10 second pass as the car sits.
Congrats on 10s! How is your trans with shifting into reverse? This was the most noticeable with mine grinding while pulling up into a parking spot and throwing it into reverse. Re-bleeding helped but still having occasional 1st to 2nd grind. Time to get rid of the ACT XTSS LOL
