wont start, i have an extra connector pictured below maybe thats it? i also cannot build oil pressure, that could cause a no start with the protection software. pulled the plugs, unplugged the injectors and cranked it a ton! oil filter is still dry!

That connector is the o2 housing oxygen sensor connector. Bolts to the valve cover with a steel tab. Should be fine being open.

I pull the plugs, disco the injectors/fuel pump, and pull the fuse on the ignition.... and crank the engine over until you build oil pressure.

if that's not working I would drain the oil and pump it through the oil feed line (from the oil filter housing) and fill the engine with oil that way...then you've ran oil through the oil pump into the pickup and finally into the pan.

Then try cranking again to build oil pressure.

I would disable all "safety" tables that might prevent you from finding the true culprit. Check for spark, fuel, and compression.

its weird how it wont build pressure, its the original engine and i havent dropped the pan or even removed the timing belt. all i did was drain most of the oil to change the turbo oil drain and put a new filter on after i topped the oil off. ill try and figure out how to disable the safety.

where is your oil pressure sensor? I assume in the oil filter housing?

Are you having cam or crank faults?

i havent even hooked up the laptop, just the can display. i got ethanol content fault (7%) and oil pressure fault. after trying to start it a few times i also got high fault count and nothing else. i swapped the pigtails for the fuel and oil pressure and the fuel pressure circuit reads 0 psi oil pressure. another thing, the oil pressure reads 99 psi on the display all the time, even after i swapped the oil pressure harness to the fuel pressure sensor (which has been reading correct). so either there is a software issue, or i have a pinout/wiring issue. its weird how it says low oil pressure fault, but the can display reads it at 99 psi.

tomorrow ill button it all up to start it and hook up the laptop and see what i get. if it still gives me trouble, ill slap my aem in and see if it starts on that. if it starts on aem i know its an engine management issue and not a mechanical/wiring issue.

I would DVM the wires to the sensor.

ill check continuity and the pinouts to make sure they are correct, but i know the oil is still not pumping. after pulling out the plug on the side of the housing and pumping 1/2 qt of oil thru and cranking for another full 90 seconds, the oil filter was only half full.

im not worried about the oil though. when i swapped a built block in my 07 sti it just would not build pressure no matter how much i cranked. fired it up and it had full pressure in 2 seconds. ill get it, i just need time!

for building oil pressure - (if you're having trouble)
isolate the fuel/ign system
remove the oil filter
crank the engine over until you have oil coming out from the oil filter housing (5-10seconds)
refit oil filter and crank.

Sometimes the oil filters will stop/restrict the oil going into the engine when there is Air in the system

checked the wiring to the oil pressure sensor and everything else i added and its all good. car fired right up on the stock ecu and the oil light went out so i assume im getting oil pressure now. when i crank it on the proefi, it does feel like its firing a bit off so maybe something is configured wrong in the map. i cant get the cable to communicate and the link for the driver is down on their website. ill try and get the driver so i can pull the map off the ecu to look at it.

edit: map on the ecu appears to be wrong, cant get the correct one on because the cable wont communicate. keep getting dll errors.

waiting on an email with a missing file for my ecu. in the mean time i found the perfect upper radiator hose for the mirage radiator! its for a 2003 acura rl. goodyear part# 60947. the one typically sold with evo 7 radiators (98-02 mirage) was 2" too short. i also had to use a mirage radiator cap, the stock evo cap is a bit different and will not fit.

Nice I like how your EBC solenoid is mounted. saves more space.

i would have preferred a vertical mount, but that spot had 2 existing holes so i used it. im trying to keep the hole drilling to a minimum.

anything that is a weak link in my setup in anyones opinion? my car must do it all well. im not interested in a drag car or a full blown track car. i know there are compromises when you try to excel at different types of racing, but im trying to minimize them. it needs to corner well, stop well, and haul *** in a strait line. i also dont want massive lag or terrible driveability. im not sensitive, so be honest.
