Hard turns, Check Tarmac
So while cornering at more-than-normal speeds, a red message comes up with something like "check tarmac" on the little display.
Is this normal? I remember posting before about going a little too fast over a pothole, or a bump, and a yellow message comes up (which I never managed to get a chance to read, it went away too quickly)...but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the red message.
Anyway, normal (I'm guessing it is)? Anyone else get this?

I've never gotten a message displayed saying "check tarmac," but I know I have accidentally hit the acd selector on the steering wheel and moved it to gravel. Could it be possible that you did this and the display is telling you to put it back to tarmac?

I'll be keeping track of my thumbs next time.
It means the ASC was working. Press and hold the ASC button down until you get a yellow screen with a triangle and a ! in the middle. Once you do that you can take the turns with out that message and you'll be able to push the car more on the turns.
Trending Topics
With ASC ON, you will lose power when the car loses any traction. This will happen whenever you go over a pothole or otherwise lose traction. A yellow display will show with a car sliding and an exclamation point.
With ASC OFF, you will not get this message.
When you turn the ASC MORE OFF by holding the button for 4 seconds, you get the same traction warning, then it goes away, and then you have an exclamation point hanging around until you turn it back on.
When you get a CHECK message, the top of the display will say TARMAC, GRAVEL, or SNOW depending on what mode you are currently in. This does not change when the CHECK message shows up, and it is not related to the check message.
What DOES change is the icon displayed with the check message. I have seen two different check messages. They are all listed in the manual, and you should really look into the manual to see exactly what the message meant. They are all in there.
I have seen a triangular one which meant 'worn timing chain', which is very scary. It happened once for a split second and never saw it again.
The other one I have seen is a circular one with blobs on the left and right of the circle. I think this icon is supposed to represent a disc brake and calipers. In the manual it says that the brake fluid level may be low, or there may be a fault in the brake system. This one showed up many times in track conditions, regardless of the ASC mode. Not sure why that happened, my brakes are fine...
Hope that's a better explanation for you.
