write up for wideband install?
I am about to install my AEM wideband (not built into the AEM box) tonight ( i have read the AEM instructions) and i was just wondering if there has been a write up on it. I have searched but haven't found anything. I am a little confused. Kind of like a "Wideband install for Dummies" lol.
Thanx
Thanx
Locate the front O2 sensor,
Disconnect it from harness under the spark plug cover
Remove o2 sensor, and install AEM wide band in place of it.
Route the wideband harness through the valve cover spark plug cover.
I installed my controller on the passenger side in front of the tower.
Route the rest of the wire inside the car through a hole in the firewall (passenger side)
there should be a thread on where that plug is.
It comes out underneath the passenger foot panel by the corner wall.
Connect the red wire to power wire on the ecu, black wire to ecu ground, and orange to #1 O2.
I have to check the pinout.
be right back.
these pinouts are on your instructions for your aem.
I think I put my power to pin# 82 black/red stripe wire on ecu harness
groung to pin#13 black wire on ecu harness
sensore to pin#76 white wire on ecu harness
then you need to follow how to calibrate

first off, my tuner told me to use the o2 by the test pipe. Has anyone tried this? I don't see why i should or shouldn't.
After looking at the instructions for the o2 controller more, the brown, blue and green wires will not be used. Now, am I clear on that I also will not be using the orange wire (0-5v output)?
Like awd dyno said, these are the 3 wires i am using.
white wire (0-1v) to pin 76 i believe?
Red wire (switched +10 to +18 volts) 10 amp fuse required? pin ???
Black (ground ) pin 92?
Any help here would be huge!

The AEM Uego is VERY picky to current draws. You will need to wire it directly to the battery ground terminal. You can try the aem ground directly like you are saying.

this might help...... but it's not the AEM wideband

/\ no problem man, i see you updated your original post with the pins...awesome. I am going to do this this wknd.
Am i correct in assuming that these pins are not used by the factory ecu wiring harness then, and i just solder the supplied connectors pins to my individual wires for the wideband wired and plug them in?
ok edit that, after rereading the second post they must be used by the factory harness, so you just remove the original wire from the harness connector and cut off the pin conn. and solder the original wire + the wideband wire and plug it back in? Yes

Allright, figured i would post up the info i found out from the AEM tech that called me back concerning wiring.
He said even though i am using the rear o2 location i can use either pin 75 or 76. I need to make the orange wire the only one going to that pin. so i need to depin the factory harness and put the new orange wire with new pin in.
As far as the neg. side of the o2 he said its best to take that straight ot the battery. and not to the ecu. Not saying it wouldn't work though.
The same thing for the Pos. wire. Take that to another source and not the ecu. is ideal.
Just a heads up...
