cold weather starting with an AEM EMS

i'm currently looking at picking up an evo VIII and looking at using an AEM management system, has anyone tuned this EMS for real cold starting? I have read up on tuning the system for "standard" cold starting on an evo but i am referring to Boston winter cold starting, i.e. 20 deg F cold starting.

I may be dreaming but my goal is an evo at around 400whp for time attack type racing that can still be driven in the winter in this part of the country, of course i will tune the engine down to something much more drivable in the winter but i think a true stand alone is required to reach my summer hp goals.

anyone tried it?

on a side note, can anyone recommend a good tuner in the Boston area?

thanks in advance.

my cars starts & drives fine after staart-up in 20f weather. i used to live in the high desert where 20f is common during the right time of the year.

the aem is an awesome device.

I'm also in MA, and this was my only car for the last two years until a few weeks ago. No problem starting down to zero degrees, aside from the fact that batteries don't like that ****. I've found that the best advice is to not have to many things arsing about with your fueling, you don't have to use every friggin table available. Assuming you have good warm startup settings, it should only take 2 or 3 cold starts to properly set up the warmup enrichment and ISC base tables. One of the most common mistakes IMO, which applies to me too, is trying to set up the ISC for all rpms with the motor warm. Set up your cold idle rpms with a cold motor.

The AEM has the functionality to start perfectly fine in very cold weather, you just have to put the time in to learn it.
