Horrible AEM tuning from the "pros"

If your fuel map looks like this after your car was tuned.....................find a new tuner.

I was sent a calibration file from a friend of mine that just bought a used EVO. The car was tuned by a shop that claims to have tuned some fast EVO's. His claims aren't completely false as he did at one time tune two of these cars, the problem is when he tuned them they were MUCH slower and were then re-tuned and that's when they went fast and set the records that are mentioned on the site.

Anyway, here is just an example of the fine tuning that is was done. The rest of the calibration file are just as bad as this. SO many things wrong. Tim is just going to bring the car in for a complete re-tune. He said it runs like crap and I had hoped to touch it up from logs and e-mails but after looking at it........I'll just replace the map with a good one and start over.

Enjoy the etch-a-sketch fuel map.

Yes, the old owner drove it like that. My friend, Tim, who just bought the car drove it and knew something was wrong, that's when he sent me the map. He of course knew it was whacked as soon as he looked at it himself.

The fuel map, is obviously bad, but you guys should see some of the rest of it. The car has a 3.5 bar maps sensor, boost fuel correct tables are set up for 5 bar map sensor!

My 9 year old son is here, he just walked up as I was typing this. He saw a picture of the map above. He said, "Is that a good map?" I said, "I don't know, what do you think of it?" He said, "It looks kinda bumpy." Nice, a 9 year old can see it. He'll be a great tuner someday. He was learning to weld last week!

That is awesome!! Maybe he will take over the business one day and build some even faster evo's than you. ( If that is possible lol)

I don't want to post it up but I will PM you. I think the guy that did it was also "AEM certified" which is scary.

I haven't seen a lot of maps but compared to my AMS tune that thing looks like it would run like complete crap, I mean holly ****. I tried playing with the software before i got my tune just to see how it works and i made smoother maps than that! LOL

That same tuner must just copy and paste maps to peoples cars. When I bought my car, the AEM had that EXACT same fuel map on it. I had to redo the whole thing.
