No Start
I just bought an AEM EMS for my EVO8 and I loaded up the base cal from AEM. The car will not stay running. Sometimes I can start it and sometimes I can't. On cold starts, the car will idle until it warms up and then it dies. I have PTE 1000cc and I already changed it under the wizard. The car starts and runs just fine on the stock ECU. I am still running a MAF setup as of right now. I am changing over to speed density this week but I need to make sure the car starts and runs on the AEM before I remove the MAF and stock MAP. In short, I need help to get it to stay running. If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it. I just need to get it running so I can go to the tuner! If anyone is willing to help me, online or in person, I am even willing to pay you.
Also, do I need to have a wideband tapped into the ECU wire going to the AEM to be able to run my car? Does the AEM only run on the wideband or can it run on the factory o2 sensor also? I can't seem to find a definite answer! It's frustrating me.

What do I select for the o2 wizard for my external AEM wideband?
There's AEM internal UEGO, AEM external controller, AEM gauge, and AEM 30-1313u pre s/n-38. It's confusing.

Which AEM wideband do you have? Do you have the gauge type that has the UEGO built into it or do you have an external box? You need to check the appropriate wizard.
In regards to your question, you do not need to use O2 feedback to run the car. It is up to you (or the tuner) as to how it would be run.

When changing injectors, not only do you need to use the wizard which sets the battery voltage offset, but you need to highlight your fuel map, right click, select change injectors/pressure, and setup your new injectors. There is way more to it than that, but that might at least get you running long enough to limp it to a good tuner.
Did you change the injectors in raw mode? Fuel map > right click "View raw" other views won't work. You can check if the "Change injector" worked if you do some math: oldinjectors/newinjectors=correctionvalue .This correction value is usually less than 1 if your injectors are bigger than stock; in your case almost 0.5 I believe. Your fuel map raw values has to be almost halved (not considering fuel pump pressure changes).

There are two AEM ECUs: one with (30-1313U), and one without wideband (30-1313). The difference is the "U" in the product code.
If you have the with option you don't need to tap anything, actually there's no ECU's pin to do that.
If you have the without option, yes, you need to unplug the factory O2 narrow band sensor (useless in a AEM ECU) and plug a new O2 wideband signal in ECU's pin (pin 71 this one doesn't exist in the with "U" option). I recommend the AEM gauge wideband option because you can track the signal before it goes into the ECU.
