As anyone doing this -- Using Low Side Output for Lean Protection
As anyone doing this -- Using Low Side Output for Lean Protection
First off I am curious if anyone has attempted this.
Second here is how I think you do it.
Configure Outputs
Select LS5(What ever Low Side Output you have available)
Check Basic Activaction(Active)
Make all Basic Feilds Active when = At least
Set Values
- Coolant = 0
- Load = 15psi (what ever value you want your protection at, must be greater than WG Spring)
- RPM = 0 (You can pick anything but 0rpm will be a catch all)
- TPS = 0% (You can pick anything but 0%will be a catch all)
- Road Spd = 0 (You can pick anything but 0%will be a catch all)
Check Functions(Active)
- Check AFR Switch
Now tab over to the Functions tab.
- O2 #1 Rich Limit = 8.01 (I dont care how rich it goes)
- O2 #1 Lean Limit = 12.01 (What ever lean limit you want to set)
If you are not using O2 #2 set 8.01 and 20.01.
Now that output switch that you just activated, needs to be wired into the ground side of your boost controller. This should provide a constant Ground when you are in a lean condition. The only part of this that I can think would suck is if you go rich again it will push you back to your high boost setting and get stuck opening and closing and really make your run **** poor. However it could save your motor.
I will be testing this out in the upcoming weeks, but please feel free to provide any feedback.
