interior design

heyas,
Im really keen on making my interior look a lot better. So far I have added a new sports steering wheel, handbreak and black mitsubishi seats.

But I wanna paint the interior panels... Im thinking of having a black and white interior. Does anyone know how to paint the panels. I wanna paint everything from the dash to the door panels.

Once I get the panels off do i need to prime them or anything? what paint should I use??

please help me out or give me any suggestions !
thanks

**** easy !

take it all out, buy the can ( if you are good at cans) and paint like you've never painted before... remember the more coats, the nicer colour you'd get

remember were everything goes ( i done all this before, i have everything blue) if you wanna photo, i'll post one up later

I have only done the dash, but the door panels are **** easy to get off.. there a lil trick.. ive mine off countless times to clean the red dust form under neath and to chage the speakers.

all around the edges are lil clips, that you pop off with a butter knife, then when all loose, and all the screws are out of the door ( i think there is 6 or 7 by memory), you have to pull out then lift up ( also remember to remove the banana clip form the door handle using 2 butter knifes, but remember to catch the clip, they are bastards to find)

is that simple.. i have a photo of the dash parts.. when i find it, i'll post

he long panel that runs along the window it itself ?

like at the bottom of the window?
if so, that one doesnt come out, you have to tape everything up and spray it that way. i used just like 12 dollar can from wa salvage.. like the flouro ****, the more coats ya do, the more impressive it looks.

I wanna do dash panels like that, retrim door cards in red, and retrim the paterned section of the seat skins red. I already have the black everything, being VRX, but like every hot blonde, it needs high-lights!

I went to Checkers the other day and they have Dupli-color paint kits that come with primer, paint, and clear coat for like $16...They are fairly small cans so you would prolly need to buy at least 4 kits to do the panels in the car. Before you paint you can also buy some fine grit sand paper and give em a little bit of a sand before you prime.

Checkers ?

i didnt even rub it back or nuttin.. just wiped it with alcohol to get rid of all the amorall.. then just painted it.. it took me around 3.5 cans to do the whole of the dash and my tweeter surrounding.. i've had no negative comments from everyone whose seen it, just everyones likes it cause its different.. and also i have done 3 other cars like it.. 1 was a deep red ( 200sx which was green, now has the plates Froggey), grey excel i did grey, and a black excel i did pink inside, with the show plates PinkBits

Yeah this is something which you must take your time with, but other than that it is very easy. I would get quality paint as it will last better and be more durable in the rough and hot conditions. Do a search of evolutionm.net and you will find some great examples and how to do step by step instructions.
