K&N Typhoon intake

Has any one installed a K&N Typhoon kit in there EVO 8 here in Aus, the reason im asking is because i have read a few US threads and they seem to have alot of mixed reviews about this intake (some say its s**t and some say its great). I already ordered one prior to reading the threads and now im concerned that ill have issues with this intake.

I have an AUS delivered 8 if that makes any difference.

I don't think this will have a hugely negative affect, but Heat Soak may have an effect after being driven for a while, as the Pod Filter does not have an enclosed Airbox to keep the Engine Heat from the Pod Filter, just a divider.

If you've already bought this item, see how it goes and take it from there........maybe you can write up a Review on it once you've used it for awhile?

Dont bother with the K&N ... it screws up the MAF readings on your VIII

if you have to get an intake ... get this one

those gains are with a Tune... i dont know if you can do an ECUFLASH in Australia....

If you cant find a local tuner .... look into MELON TUNING.. he can do mail in Flashes through Email.

The K&N suction pipe has a severe restriction plate which blocks flow to the turbo.
Its like a deflector plate for the air from the bov.
Only recomended if it is the only change you ever make to the car.
Does not suit upgrades like increased boost, exhaust.
