Nope. Fully naturally aspirated.

It's a worked 6A12G, (FTO engine), with a new intake manifold, port and polished head, exhaust manifold, and a replacement (not intercept) ECU.

It needs to rev to 8000rpm to generate that power though, and the torque curve is rather steep, so it's not quite as fast as the power makes it sound.

I drive a manual 1.8 coupe with minor mods, the other day i drove a stock manual mirage, i'd assume it was 1.5 or 1.6 whatever it comes in, but i thought it was a real slug

i reckon u were just the better driver out of both of them who u raced either that or urs is modded?, gli would be slighty lighter than mr because of the extras u get with a MR, and the engine is exactly the same, correct me if im wrong. so it should be quicker, someone vote for 1.8 lol they almost in the lead

i've not had any problems beating stock 1.8L (CE) lancers (even with exhausts) in the 2.0L (CG). The power to weight ratio is slightly in favour of the CG even with the extra weight - Its really going to come down to the drivers knowledge of the car / driving skill as the cars are pretty close.
The handling of the CG ****s all over the CE atleast in VRX (OZ for the yanks) trim.

my car is completly stock. ppl say im a good manual driver, i spose i am since ive been driving manuals since i was 10 cause i used to live on a farm. the driver of the gli 1.8 is an alright driver and then driver of the 2003 vrx is pretty standard. but still its a good effort of a stock mr to beat a 2003 vrx lancer with a exhaust.

I gotta 1.8l MR, i was about the buy the 2003 Vr-x lancer but i thought the MR was quicker and i prefer the coupe. A mate got the Limited Edition 2002(or whatever year it was) 1.8l coupe and he also tested the 2.0l four dorr and he prefer the 1.8l coupe much more. The less weight is a contributing factor. But in a race between the diff engine sizes, the driver is prolly one of the biggest contributing factors, assuming both car are stock.

i havent raced a 2.0 but my mate has a manual mirage with an exhaust and ive got a 1.8lancer coupe with exhaust but im auto and when we race our 0-100 is pretty identical with me about a bumper ahead but after that he dies and i crap on him. he only gets me off the line cause he can obviously launch better but the weigh difference is enough to let him keep up down low.

I have the 1.8lt 4g93 sohc and I have driven the 1.5 4g15 sohc and found it very funny to drive even though it was the same shape as the car I have - it is not quite as spirited as mine even when I had not done any engine mods then same day took out a 2lt 4g94 4 door and found that to be a bit sluggish not as free revving as mine and I could also feel the difference in weight in the car

But having said that if I had to do a engine swap it would definately be a 4g94 sohc 2.lt because before you start doing any engine mods you already have the better flowing head and the power actually comes from the crank and strock so any work done is going to be a huge improvement but I think my 1.8 modified will still beat the pants off a modified 2.lt simply because of the added weight these things carry versus my 990kg

Any swap I do will be from the 4G93 to 4G94, the extra 200cc sure isn't much but if that was a bike engine for instance then from 200cc you can expect something like 30hp from it. Then add some boost or even more boost and it could be another 45Hp hey.........
