What Will Fit?
What Will Fit?
Hey folks
I have a 1998 Aussie Mirage coupe, I am really wanting to put an evo VII bootlid and hood on it, I'm wonderin if any of you guys know whether they will fit? I know that the EVO IV - VI bootlid will fit, but I'm after the Evo VII style. If it aint gonna fit, does anyone know of any bodykit places that make em to fit say the 96-01 lancers & evos, one of those may just fit if the OEM evo IV - VI's do
Thanks a lot

I am no expert on this stuff but I would highly doubt that an EVO VII (genuine shape and proportion) boot lid would fit on any car other than the evo. When they went from Evo Vi to VII they changed the shape of teh Lancer quite a bit (to the Cedia platform). This car is wider.
The 2 ltr Lancer that came out for production is Aus was a scaled down version of this car as the Evo VII and VIII are actaully wider than the production Lancers.
Also note that the light clusters are quite different from any Lancer to the evo from the Cedia platform designs. Case in point is to look at teh VIII based Lancer lights and then look at the ones on the evo. This is important as the bonnet moulds around the top of the lights, you would need a full front end remodel.
That said there may be someone out there who makes replicas to suit the older style platforms and shapes.

I suppose it depends that you are asking about the 2Ltr EVO VII shape sedan 2002 lancer, or the coupe?
The 2ltr version is very different at the rear end as well, once again it is a different shape body with different lights. You MAY be able to the change rear bumper, lights and boot lid but I doubt it.
If you are talking 2002 coupe shapes, I don't think they actually changed much at all. As long as the light clusters are the same it should - which I think they are.
I am not really a rice lancer doer uperer (insert real english here), so my advice may be completely out. Hopefully someone else may be able to help.
Also check out the MOGWA website/forum, they seem to have heaps of rice cars there

the 4 door boots don't fit on coupes.. i have a spoiler from a GSR and its wider on my car then the GSR..
I woudl look into an aftermarket maker, if you know someone with a spoiler shop in your city, they'll be perfect..

Yep that is right wrx hunter boy
just jokes
The light clusters from the coupe and sedans are different and different wheel base sizes as well.
The coupe boot lids from the laster range all fit though don't they? I have the 2003 coupe and that boot is identical to a friend's 98 coupe - ish that is
That said stonewashd has a Mirage, would that be near impossible to put an Lancer boot on? Completely different shape...

The americans actually call thier Lancer Coupes a Mirage.. so whether or not thats what he is implying, will make the difference
I think the Earlier Model Coupes may fit the Later model, but nothing is actually known til you try it..

And yep Pete you never know until you try. Best bet is to go down to a Mistu wreckers and physically try one there. If it look promising go for it

That is the best that can Solver the problem at the moment
