Evo X MR Buying Advice
Evo X MR Buying Advice
Hi All,
As title of the thread says would like some advice and insight into the Evo X Mr.
I'm living in Melb Australia and have a budget of around $36k to buy my next car i hope to get a trade in of at least 10k for my current car.
I'd like an 08-09 Model Evo x MR with preferably 65000km or less km on it.
I'm just wondering with my budget would this be doable or would i just be looking at thrashed ones considering this is my $$ limit?
I'm not against flying interstate as well to pick up a bargain if one is to be had.
Also just wondering from any owners how much servicing costs and real world fuel consumption would be ( not too worried about petrol but have heard the Evo X's do way higher then the quoted 10.5L/100km)
How reliable is the engine on the Evo as well are there any issues i should look out for when inspecting any?
Thanks in advance for any replies!

With $46k, it's doable.
Service isn't crazy expensive, but it will be more than your average Honda Civic.
Fuel is bad, but it's decent if you can control your foot.
Evo engine, stock, is fairly reliable. It's when you push for higher numbers where **** goes to the wall.
If you are purchasing an MR, you may want to be careful. I'd bring somebody who drives an MR (and is knowledgeable) with you to check it out and make sure the trans is good.
