Are extractors worth it ?

Hey guys,

I have a 2002 CE 1.8 Lancer and I have booked my car in tomorrow to have some custom extractors fitted. But I am having a few second thoughts. I dont know any1 with a lancer and extractors to ask, so I need your help!

Are extractors worth getting?

Cheers

i dont advise you get custom made.... ususaly they dont have the same amount of r and d put into them and you usualy end up with a pritty poor power gain... if u cant afford the rpw ones go get your self some hurricae extractors they are great as well, what i had on my car.

Which one is better? 4-2-1 or 4-1. Lots of my friend say 4-2-1 is better, but RPW says 4-1 is better.

So why do they bother with the 4-2-1 ? I would have thought itd be cheaper to go to 1, less pipework ??

4-1 gives better flow for high RPM

4-2-1 gives better scavenging for mid end

I got 22kw gain from a new set of headers, ceramic and turbo polish.

i got hurricane 4-2-1 headers with a 2.25" down and flex pipe and it made an awsome gain. my best mod so far. give me heaps more torque low and medium revs. didnt add much up high but my car is heaps easier to drive now. made me alot quicker than the stock cars too.

if anyone wants a set of extractors for a cc lancer glxi i have my old 4-2-1 hurricane extractors that gave me a heaps good power gain. so if you would like some just msg me.

new extractors are usualy worth 375-500 (just extractors) the rpw one are 550 i think but many people say they are worth it. i would have baught them but at the timeof my purchas i did not know of them. any how i still got a great power gain and was choping pulsers, rollas and what eva els was <2l and non turbo.

Extractors

OK

Extractors, what to get, H/M 4-2-1 and RPW 4-1.

H/M part number is 105SS, I can personally guarantee you will notice the difference with these, we gained 13Hp from these according to the before and after dyno runs. A good solid gain in anyones books and they're stainless to boot which means the cat converter is kept in good condition and will be warrantied if it fails inside of the warranty period of car.
