That's my thread on thinking of selling my car.

I agree with the statement about the timing issue. Boost obviously does not always equate to power, anyone with any knowledge of what's going on in tuning knows that. Unfortunately, it is hard for me to advance any kind of decent timing on 91 octane. My next power mod whenever my 2.0 motor dies is gonna be a 2.4 bottom end, that is without question. The gt35r + the 4g64 definitely makes for a better daily driver and better setup overall.
ok.... your car has WAY more than 99% of stock turbo cars out there. Look what happens when a stock turbo car does the same crap you did (Curt Brown). It runs a 10.99. I have no idea what Brown dynos, but the track numbers should be enough. Not too many stock turbo guys completely port their head and build their motors. There are even a lot of big turbo guys like myself that don't have nearly that much work in their cars.

we're still talking about 91 octane on 19-21psi. Thanks.

Well I can't comment on how fast they run or how much power they make on lower boost levels, but I am sure it is more than you would think. Unfortunately they were one of the few examples of similarly modified stock turbo cars.

On top of this you also have to realize when you start porting your head and adding big volume intake manifolds the turbo has to work harder to fill that up, so the big turbo will start to pull further away from the small turbo, because even at 22psi that small turbo has to work it's butt off to fill that extra volume, where the bigger turbo still has plenty of headroom. This means that because of the extra volume in the intake tract you need to flow more air, which the bigger turbo does to maintain the same boost. Just for comparison sake running 25psi on a stock like car would be similar to 21psi on a car such as yours because of the extra volume. That is comparing apples and oranges. This is why speaking strictly in terms of psi only works if you limit your variables i.e. excessive modifications.
