taking my evo to track this friday

Ive got the 35r and all with stock bottom end around 480hp, and i also have 4 drag radials im wondering what would be the weakest thing on the car that could possibly break when launching hard at the track?

since you have a 05, you have a much stronger front diff (you actually get a front lsd), so i think it will hold up a bit better, but id still get ready to buy a new one. Your tranny may take a beating if you are just dumping the clutch @7k with slicks on.

Front and rear diff's, axles and i hope your on a upgraded clutch. And there are many other risks but you have to pay ot play.

well im back car survived, ran a few times first run was a 13.5 with a 2.7 60' and then a 13.2 with a 2.8 60' then 12.2 with a 1.9 60' and a 13.1 with a 2.4 60' which was last run at 2:30am and low methanol light came on last pass. So with room for improvement with a 1.9 60' i think with a 1.6 or 1.7 it could be a 11.5/11.6 car.

Lower your 60' and you're golden. Glad she made it back.

Ya, traps are pretty important.

And your t-case could also be your weakest link.

Was the 480hp at the wheels or at the crank? While the launch and 60' times play a big role in E.T.'s, power is what gets you a high trap speed.

115 is extremely low for a GT35/480whp car. Many people run those times with stock turbos and about 350whp.

Don't get down on your car or yourself. None of us get it just right on our first trips out. Take a couple more trips to the strip, get some more experience launching it and you'll probably be ripping off mid-11's or better at 122mph +/-.
