AMS TBE w. Cat Throwing a CEL??
Hey,
Just installed a AMS TBE on my bros iX and after 2 days it started showing a check engine light. The catted pipe I got is the one with the smaller designed cat on it from AMS. I have the same exhaust on my car with no problems. Only difference is my cat is the org. bigger one.
Question is.
On the smaller cat im concerned that it is installed backwards. So that the flow is reversed. I have it installed with the shorter end of the pipe towards the front of the car, so in other words the cat is closer to the front. Is this correct?? I had no fitment problems so i assume it is correct. Any help/picts?
Thanks
Derek

on the top of the cat there is a flow dirrection arrow. Make sure that is followed. If you cant see that (because the top of the cat is facing the underbody of the car) you have it installed right.
some cars, even with a high flow cat can throw a code. Its different for every car.

run to autozone and see what the code is for. i popped a cel when i installed my ams tbe with the highflow, for the o2 sensor. took about 3 days before it came on. sounds like you have it on correct. ill try and take a pic when i get home from work.
if its just the sensor, do a search for the mechanical 02 fix. you can use sparkplug anti-foulers to get the sensor out of the exhaust stream. i have been cel free for about 3 months. fix will cost you about 5 bucks.
