AMS Starts its Second Time Attack car TA2
Shaq Attack lol
I understand going for better weight distribution and I could believe the bs about seeing farther in front of you (You just cant see to sides anymore
) but that is a hell of a ways back there. Is it really just to shove the driver back some more? Or are they just doing it so they can put the seat wherever they want any not worry about it.

Hello
I should introduce myself. My name is Justin Wylde, I am the Fabrication dept. manager and I'm responsible for many aspects of the time attack cars built here at AMS. I'm also talent-err, lucky enough to travel with the cars to many of the events and assist Martin with suspension setup, tire changes, ect.
To answer a few questions, the cage is still being worked on but we will progress slowly so we don't overlook any detail that may give us an advantage. Weight is our bigest enemy so every aspect of the car is being taken into cosideration as we move forward. The floor plates do look thin in the pics, but they are .080 thick and the boxed mounting pads are gusseted inside to transfer any loads to the vertical section of the frame rail. Now the seat will be mounted about six inches further back than a stock Evo, mainly for rearward weight distribution and so will the Wilwood floor mounted pedal assembly. The steering column is going to be all custom bits to reach the driver as will the shifter, brake bias, ect.
As you can imagine entry, exit for the driver will be a concern in a emergency so we are looking very closely at what we need there. The door bars are a big part of the puzzle and most likely last to go in, just so we don't have to crawl over them a thousand times while working on everything else.

we neeeeeed air
we neeeeeed water
we neeeeeed shelter
we neeeeeed to teach readrs13 how to use photoshop.
we DO NOT neeeeeed some updated info and PICTURES!
Does anyone understand what it takes to build a car from scratch? New pics every 2 or 3 weeks is more than reasonable. **** doesn't happen like "Pimp my Ride" or "Monster Garage" in real life. At least not when theres a budget.

well im sure we could build a car like monster garage or pimp my ride in the time they take but it would not be NEARLY as nice as what we are building and we would have to close the shop for a week. Customer cars always come first, no exceptions.
I will have some Time attack 1 pics for you later tomorrow. the Old bird got repainted and she looks SICK!!!!!
