boost creep ams turbo kit

I just got car back from shop,, and its a gt850r..

Its hitting 14psi, but creeps up to 16psi by redline....

Is it because I'm just running wastegate pressure? turbo wants more? not tuned yet,, why i'm asking.

The kit was never designed to operate that low so that would be why. You can get it to hold 17/18 just fine but that's really as low as it will go. If you are not tuned you should not even be getting into the throttle with a turbo that big on your car. You could seriously damage your engine.

If you spent $4000 + on a turbo kit another $500 for a tune should be a drop in the bucket. Get a tune man

I love how people talk ****..
lol

i have a tune, just not for that turbo,, which is why i am keeping it at wastegate pressure....

I definitely have been out the thottle but I had to make sure everything was running good..

Btw,, a/f's are good lil rich, but no knock.. I guess my previous tune green/780's/25psi is good..

tune is 7 march (chris@ams)

Anyways, ,thanks for the info,,,, I figured it was because the pressure was so low causing it to creep.

i guess you're right...i mean why wouldn't a tune for a green on 25psi not work for the 850r turbo kit at 14psi???? i'm speechless!

glad you have the tune date!!

Not for nothing but call your tuner & ask his advice. I would strongly recommend a retune asap and don't get on it. No hating envolved here, would just like for you to keep your motor in one piece & really get the full benefit of that awesome kit

^^^couldn't have said it better. it would suck to have your engine blow up after spending so much money on it just because you "want to make sure everything is ok" before you have it tuned. that's what tuning is for. to make sure everything is ok and to get the most power out of your car and it still be perfectly safe!
