Differences between ES and OZ
Ok, I browsed on their website everywhere, and there is no brochure.. only the US site has them.
Now, I plan on getting (well, ot now but sometimes this year) a Lancer ES with the two option packages, the prices even with both packages is lower than the OZ.
What you don't get:
Colour-keyed front, side and rear ground effects
Rear spoiler
Variable intermittent windshield wipers + mist control
Heated side mirrors
Now, I don't want the wing and ground effects, because I plan on getting a body kit with the $ saved. The intermittent wipers and mist control will really miss me in an ES because mist is one of the most useful thing a car can have (along with cruise control). The heated side mirrors, well I can live without, none of my past car had that and I'm still alive. It's a cool feature, but bleh.
In the ES you get that stupid wood inserts, but I just made a post on how to change that so it's not a problem.
Now, this question is for people which checked the OZ a lot... What are the other differences?
The ones I know:
Suspension is different up front
Rear Strut bar on OZ
White gaugues on OZ
Now please help me do that list so I can decide if I'm still saving on the upgraded ES compared to the OZ.
Thanks
Etienne

OZ gets the black interior with the gauges, "sport" knob and steering wheel, special floormats, the metal dash panels, the body "kit" aaaaand...wheels. Suspension is different but you already read up on that didn't you? On my ES though, the option package essentially makes it an LS without wheels, 2 speaker, and an auto tranny. I have the color keyed handles, the floor mats and all that other goodness.

I just read that post, seem the US and Canadian are pretty different in terms of options/packages.
True for the interior black, here too you can just have gray or tan with ES. Guages are the same as US models also.. white for OZ. I did not read anywhere that OZ have metal dash panels in the OZ (can edition).
So I really think I'll go with ES, put wheels and body kit + paint the ugly wood trim. For the cluster, I already know how to change all this, made it on my integra...
Thanks for the link!

yeah i went to the dealer this morning
and we have that same faux-aluminum... and the wood doesn't look like wood at all, it's so dark it's more like black with very hard to see woodgrain in it. The dealer can even put (option$) a metallic frame.
Oh and he can throw the cruise control on the ES for 400$
So for sure I'm getting an ES all dressed instead of an OZ

If you want a Yellow one, buy the OZ Rally Edition, sell the OZ rims to an ES owner for cheap, sell the body kit on the OZ.
If you want another color buy the ES, add whatever you need and then add on OEM or Aftermarket rear sway bar and front struts so you're the same as the OZ Rally or better.
I went with a Yellow one, blame RRM for that. lol.
