Question How difficult is to import an evo into Canada?

First thing I would like to say ------- EVO's RULE--------

I am a serious evo fan. I am in Univ now & once I graduate & find a nice job I plan to shell in money into my all time dream car - evo VI. How difficult is it to import it into Canada? Has anyone tried taking this path?

I don't want to have an evo8. I want to have the evo 6 or worst case evo 7.

Hi Waverider,

My folks used to live in Muscat, Oman. When I visited 2 yrs back I checked out evos there and I checked out few second hand evo 5 & 6 that had done less than 30000km and the price on them was around $30000 Canadian. I know shipping is around $2000 cause one of my friends actually moved from Oman to TO.

I think just for the car price & shipping - the whole deal sounds good.

But I am not sure what kind of conversions need to be done to make it road legal, customs duties & insurance.

Bud, if you look around on the net there's quite a few places in the states selling EVO7's for about $20,000 USD.

The problem with the EVO 8 is it won't pass safety because of the bumper.
