It's this thing that started on PBNation because of a sign from a paintball tournament that pictures were posted on the net about. For some reason everyone on EvoM thinks it's cool to type.

FTW (the acronym) goes back to the 80's and was a punk movement. And no, it didn't stand for "for the win".

When FTW was posted on PBNation, it was a throwback to the Hollywood Squares show where they would always pick a star "for the win" or "to block". That's where it's internet existence can be traced to, and it was actually from a picture, not anything typed. Later, people started typing it, and now it's spread like a virus or something.
