What's Up With the gas prices
Hurry, Hurry!!!!
I just gassed up at Petro canada, corner of Burnhamthorpe and Mavis. Gas was still 79.9 although there's quite a line up.
surrounding stations are at 90.8.
I didn't want to wait at that station, the line up was huge filled up at Eglinton and Kennedy for a great deal of 100.06 Hahahahahahaha. Only put 20$ in and didn't even get 20liters.
i find that i always get it at the worst prices so now what i do is go to get gas...drive past the station till i pass 3 more then fill up there. got it at 89.9 this morning (still cost me $25.00 from just under half a tank)
for some reason at Jarvis and Wellesley downtown, the gas price hasn't gone above 81 cents in the past 2 weeks, so if you're in that area with an empty tank, hit up that gas station (and if you don't mind lineups)
i'm just glad my civic has such amazing fuel economy

lol days like these makes me wish I didn't sell my crx 20 dollars to a tank... and that would last me a week and a half sometimes 2...
I think its possible to 450km on a lancer... just highway though... and not over 120kph!!!

Simple answer to this question.
Supply and Demand. The world is running out of Oil and Gas. Back in 1996 the OPEC estimated 46.7 years left of Oil production, and in 20 years a shortage would occur. In the paper today they estimated 25 years of production left, this is the shortage. OPEC's not cutting production, they are simply running out!

Yeah, i'd have to go with the price gouging on this issue. It turns out, contrary to what OPEC is trying to make you believe, that gas is more abundant now than it was 20 years ago and that they are doing a great job of brainwashing north americans into putting up with their ridiculous pricing!
But hey, what can we do about it, honestly? Stop buying from Petro and Shell (the LARGEST fuel conglomerate in corporate North America until they are forced to lower gas prices to at least 64 cents a litre?
HELLS NO!!! We'll just sit back while some other stubborn suckers participate while we continue to go to these gas stations(when convenient) and when (or if) the prices actually do go down because of the reduction in demand, we can merely take advantage of them and get cheap gas!
But that's never going to happen, because as soon as the prices go down to lets say 75 cents at Shell/Petro(which they probably won't), who in their right mind would drive to the next Esso and opt for the more expensive stuff? yeah, sillyness

There are new alternative sources of fuel. Hybrids, fuel cells, alcogas, natural gas and hydrogen (the one that has water as a by product - I can't remember if it's this one). Anyway, the point is none of these are getting full support for development because the big oil companies lobby against it. There are no plans for infrastructure (like where to recharge your electric car) because once these are developed, there will be less dependence on oil. The powers that be will delay this as much as they can.
