Hi all!

I'm all for option #2 myself too.. I'll also be able to shuttle people back and forth between the two locations. These two places are really close to each other (which I suspect, is why Dave chose that location..).

Emre, we'd be delighted to have you with us again!

I do want to visit the show, obviously, but won't be entering my car. That just means that more guys can enter theirs...

I'd normally offer to help more with organizing this, but I'm a lot more busy than usual, so I really can't help right now, sorry..

Keep us posted!
fluke

PS: my offer for people to come crash at my place still stands! either they night before, the night after, or both!

Hi Fluke,

No worries. Just bad timing to get busy.
However, have you heard from deux? I hope he is still coming as he's got one of the cleanest looking lancer.

And I am still considering crashing at your place. I'll coordinate with you. I want to help the others to find places to stay.

And ditto on Emre. We're glad you are joining us again.

Here are 2 hotels that I found through expedia. The rates in bold numbers are the average of the 2 nights. If you are only staying one night, it'll be depending on the night you are staying. $85 on Saturday night and $79 on Sunday night for Comfort Inn, Dorval.

Comfort Inn Dorval Lowest avg rate $79.08
Dorval, QC

Stay at a convenient location less than 2 miles from Montreal-Dorval Airport and the Dorval Golf Course.
Availability request: 1 room Expedia Special Rate Sat 4-Sep-04 to Mon 6-Sep-04
Room type Sat Sun Avg rate (per night)
Queen bed w/single bedded pullout $85 $73 $79.08
Standard Two Double Beds $93 $81 $86.79

Quality Hotel Anjou Olympic Parc Lowest avg rate $81.78
Anjou, QC

Stay just ten minutes from downtown Montreal and close to major attractions such as the Olympic Stadium, Botanical Gardens, Biodom, challaging golf ...
Availability request: 1 room Expedia Special Rate Sat 4-Sep-04 to Mon 6-Sep-04

Room type Sat Sun Avg rate (per night)
Standard room $89 $74 $81.78

Montreal people, can you suggest other alternatives? I am sure (hoping) that there are cheaper ones out there.

And to complete GreenArcher's list, if some of you would like a place closer to the meet (in Laval, 10 minutes from Saint-Eustache), here are some cheaper accomodations:

Motel Chez-Nous
1002, Curé-Labelle
(450) 681-9265
39-65$ (simple or double)

Motel Lido
1354, des Laurentides blvd
(450) 669-2601
44-80$ (simple or double)

I just need to get firm commitment from them (hence, I need to talk to them)
1) Jing
2) Bong
3) Nigel
4) Alan (maybe)
5) me

They were very interested when I talked to them last Sunday at the Phantom show and are also interested in joining the show and shine.

I have to find Jason JTC as he was also asking about it last week when he finally posted here. and RalliartCA I thought was asking about it.

If I can find cheaper accommodations, it might help bring them towards the dark side

The fact that it's a long weekend is why I think it's a good idea to go.
Anybody else coming?

Yeah, the fact that the meet is on sunday means that you guys can go out and party saturday night and then come meet us on sunday (if you can still stand upright of course!)...

Dennis, I might be able to find accomodations for you much closer to the center of town if it's where you guys would rather stay... It's a shame that I didn't know about it a couple of weeks ago though, my girlfriend might have been able to negociate a group deal with one of the hotels...

Yeah... But that means I have a lot of work to do to my car... I have to carpet my trunk, either repair or find something to hide my big @ss dent on the driver's side, put on an extra 3 coats of wax, install my blacklight, re-wire my x-overs, vaccum and wash my interior carpet, clean my engine, adjust sand and paint my intake braket... and I don't know what else That's a load and a half of work Plus, I gotta find time to start working on Mitsubishi_03's trunk.

Anyhow, I'll find a way to make it... I know I'll make it all in time
