Wink The proper way to break in an Evo...

255miles on it before the Double National race last weekend @ Mid-Ohio...still under 500miles on her now...Too bad it still has a stock tune or I would have finished much better... I had the AP in the center console with hopes that a magical tune would arrive ...and for those that say I'll have trouble later, Marty and I did the same with our Evo 9's that jointly have seen ten's of thousands of race miles without issue.

I was reading on the other Evo forum and they are saying that it is actually better to run the stage 2 map on a stock Evo X...any truth in this?

Makes me wonder why people are so rushed for Stage 1 Cobb AP for the 2011.

The 2011's are already dyno'in 20hp at the wheels more. So the only thing I see worth waiting for is the Stage 2 maps no?

I really didnt want to get an exhaust...I am still on the fence about getting a Cobb AP. I just sold my AP for my Suby. I just wanted to do a drop in filter and maybe a testpipe...

Wouldn't that make stage 1 for the 2011's even better then previous stage 1's?

No the engine is the same, just the tune changed... The Stage 1 was just a retune of the crappy stock tune. With the 2011's showing a 20hp+ at the wheels difference than 2009 how will the Cobb Ap 1 improve on this? When essentially their stage 1 tune was a 20hp+ improvement over the first factory tunes. With the tweaking we've seen by the factory it's almost redundant.

Ok, I understand now. Would it be "safe" to put a stage 2 on a virtually stock MR?

this very reason has me wondering if i should hold onto this or get a pro-tune down the line when i have more mods.

would it be in my best interest to hold onto the AP for the logging and ability to reflash the stock tune, when i finally am tuned? idk...

but 500 bucks in my pocket toward suspension sounds really nice right now...

Well if the stage 1 is 20 or around that over stock would it not make since that it would be 20hp over the 2011 current stock emu or else why would 11 owners buy the app. Just my 2 cents.
plus did you notice the Cobb site is down Maby a sign that the maps are being added?
I ran a stage 2 on a stock ralliart and it ran fine with it but not as good as it would be with the exhaust.

Does their website usually get taken down when they post new maps?

The new 2011 Staged maps are nothing like the 2008-10 Fyi.
