question about cobb AP

i work with a guy whos friend has a 2009 evo 10, he first was telling me about wheels he was trying to sell but i wasnt interested. i brought up the fact i want to get the access port as my first mod because i had just got my car a month ago. my car is a 2011 gsr. i looked on cobbs website and they have a AP for 2008-2010 models and then a seperate for 2011. now hes willing to sell me the access port for 400 which is nice considering new is 600, but will his access port work on my 2011 model? he "says" it will work but i dont trust anyone i dont know, tho he offered that i can test it out first. but i dont want to take a chance of trying to program anything and then my brand new ****ing dream car is ****ed up. does anyone kno anthing about this? id really appreciate the feed back.
thanks, sean

As far as I know, they work on all evo x's. What I don't know is if they can be used on multiple evos. There is a thread on this site that covers all that. It's getting pretty long, but I'm sure the info is in there.

Here ya go: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...011-evo-x.html

It should work on all cars.

Please search as this question has been posted 2-3 times in the last couple of weeks. You might be best to call Cobb and ask them this question directly (though I'm fairly certain my answer is correct). That would probably be the most direct / correct answer.

Also, there is no such thing as a 2009 evo.

It will work for your car as long as he unmarry the access port from his car.

Yup it'll work, just make sure he unmarries it and then you'll have to update it online with Cobb's newest firmware.

What's the difference between unmarrying and divorcing?

As everyone has said, it will work.

Just be sure to go download the latest versions of the proper maps for your car. Don't just plug the AP into your car and use whatever maps are in there.
