3 port install directions say not to trust ofs maps
3 port install directions say not to trust ofs maps
Is this a "cover thine ***" statment? what's the point in having an off the shelf map if it is know not to work?...to be more specific the install instructions say "you will overboost without a custom map"
Well damn....I figured i'd be carefull and monitor boost to see how it goes but if FOR SURE IT WILL OVERBOOST..then WTF? It's not convienient to get a pro tune and I am waiting for the access port race 2013 so I can custom tune myself, but I wanted to go ahead and install it and data log and see what's what for now
Seems i've read a few posts where the off the shelf map worked just fine..
what say you?

They have certian maps that are made to run with thier 3-port, so i would think it would be safe. If your going the route of the 3-port, get a pro-tune. You will never be happier then with a pro-tune.
Installed my K&N typhoon intake and hard UPIC and cobb three port (already have a Tomei cat back) data logged with the Cobb 93 / SF / 3port OTS stage 1 map and got really nice results:
Did a lot of pulls, worst knock was a couple of random 2's non consecutive, peak boost was 25.6Lbs
good pull in 4th (GSR) from 4k ~65mph to 7K ~100mph boost peaked at 25.5Lbs and held 20Lbs (19.9) all the way to 7000.
Wasn't used to hearing all that turbo noise I thought I had a leak at first
so the OTS map is working pretty good for me

yeah man my 2013 GSR is running good with the New beta maps. Most of the threads you see on these forums saying that people a running into issues with they're AP is usually when they are running with parts not reccomended by cobb for that specific map. Of course there are exceptions to that though. Each car is different. Look at the post from those who are using the correct parts for their AccessPORT and you will see nothing but good feedback. probably why you see more bad threads about the AP is because those people are frusterated and want to let everyone know. The people who are following the directions are out having too much fun with their cars to sit home and post about it
I would recommend using the AccessPORT.

I would recommend using the AccessPORT.
