Cobb AP question

If you use a Cobb AP for like 5 minutes can you still return it?

The hardware can be uninstalled safely from the vehicle at that time. The AP however, is not a lease and would not be returned. The products carry a proper warranty and support. You could take advantage of the for sale section on this forum.

If you buy from cobb it comes with a 30 days return period, but if ur thinking flashing on the car and just return that wont happen. You must uninstall the flash so you can return the item meaning you would still be on stock tune.

All of our products come with a 30 day money back guarantee. If you purchased the Accessport directly from us, give us a call 866-922-3059 and we can get you taken care of.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Accessport port off the shelf(OTS) tune-

Very safe and conservative for the most part
The AP itself is awesome
You can download ATR and tune yourself if you're like me
Likely doesn't need retuning for simple upgrades because they are non aggressive
COBB has probably the best industry leading services
Flashing is easy with AP

Power gains are minimal
ATR is not as advanced as Open source tune ie PSI based boost control, RAX Patches etc..
AP AFR isn't accurate due to our cars not having OEM wideband which isn't even COBBs faults anyways

Pro tune-

Will extract most power from engine
Any issues can be dealt with while on the dyno

Gets expensive especially when having to get retuned over and over again everytime you upgrade anything
You never really learn to tune since your just letting the tuner do his thing
May not have a tuner nearby
Booking appointments can take a long time
They make mistakes

Hope this helps.

Good info. So it's just a matter of preference.

Preference, costs, skill. You could download the race version of the tuner and adjust maps yourself if you knew what you were doing, but of course without a dyno and proper gauges you won't be able to maximize your gains.
