No more messing with tape!

The Proclip feels solid. Install was easy. I used a hair dryer to heat up the tape so it would stick more. I just installed it today but it looks great

A windshield mount something like Garmin GPS would be cool. Perhaps run the cable under the pillar. Hmmmm...

My Cobb AP v3 Mounted

Here is how I mounted mine AP v3.

Haven't had any issues out of it yet. My mounting solution. You can get a CF replacement piece for $100.00 so I figure why not mount it right and not just with some 3m tape.

What I did because I had the same issue.

1. Sand the back of the piece where the 3M goes. (Guessing you took off the 3M)
2. Clean it with alcohol after sanding it.
3. Clean the surface area of where you are going to mount it.
4. Replace the 3M
5. Peel, place, and enjoy.

Worked for me and it never fell down again.

i have mine on the glass near the A pillar. when your moving along at speed its best to keep the peripheral vision up near the windshield rather than focused near HVAC controls.

Flush mount APv3

I got bored the other day and had to find a better mounting than the mount that the AP came with. So I flush mounted it in place of my heat vent

Decided to relocate my AP3 and sanded the back as suggested and it has definitely held up extremely well. Originally I wanted to try and move it on the A-Pillar, but the mount setup had it facing an eccentric position. I've seen that Cobb makes an A-Pillar mount for Subarus. Maybe they may consider it for the Evo.

I like that I have a better view of it now and don't have to take my eyes off the road to look near the hvac controls.

Also, major thanks to Cobb for replacing my cable. They sent it out the same day I emailed them! Awesome service!

Bump. That's where I run mine. Works great! Looking for a way run/hide the wiring though. Wish there was a pod/dock that would allow the wire to be tucked out of sight but still allow easy ap removal (like an ihome/iPhone dock).

^^ This is what two local GSR owners have done, and what I'm most likely going to do.

Anyone have a pic of the AP mounted with the vent clip mount? I was looking at it on ebay. Not sure how it would look though. Also thought of just putting screws in the CF trim piece on the left of the steering wheel.

I just used small pieces of velcro directly on the back of the AP. I put another piece on the trim piece on the right of the steering wheel and one underneath the steering wheel to hide the AP and keep it out of sunlight when i'm not driving. Doesn't move and I never have to disconnect the cable.
