Stock to Cobb stage 3

Hey guys I have done some searching around and haven't found what I am looking for. Has anyone gone from stock straight to the Cobb stage 3 package that's roughly $2500? Just looking for some reviews. Thanks

The package is great if you want a simple bolt on solution, but the map is still going to be a "one size fits all" solution. If you're looking for the most power possible, I would buy the mods you want and then get a Dyno tune. That way its calibrated for your car specifically.

I went from pretty much stock (catback exhaust, cobb stage 1) to stage 3. You definitely feel a difference. But like this guy says its a conservative universal tune. If you want the best results, get a protune

Are you happy with your setup or left wanting more? I'm looking for a daily driver setup that's reliable and I've used the Cobb platform in the past on a 335i.

I'm pretty happy with it even though i did expect more. It's getting me by until I get a e85 protune next month. Lol I would say it's a good start if you plan to start stock and add bolt ons as you go. Like I said you don't get the most power out of it cuz it's pretty conservative and universal but it definitely gets you by

Thats the catch with these cars, youre always wanting more. I was more than satisfied when I went from stock to stage 3. I had enjoyed driving this whole summer on the OTS map, next summers project is an inter-cooler and piping plus a protune.

I thought the cobb map 4.03 was better than my "protune".. for stage 3.
Max boost is 24psi though so not sure why I am a bit short

Wow that is interesting. Ots better than a pro tune? Think you may have received a poor tune or bad tuner?

Yeah I am not sure- maybe he tuned it for s-sport manual, maybe he was not familiar with MR's. My guess is that they have not tuned a lot of MR's. It was really laggy in Normal and Sport and redline was only 7K I believe vs 7700 for the Cobb.

The 4.03 Cobb map is really good imo- may not make max HP for all cars but for my MR I want to be slightly more conservative for the SST but have a great all around map for city driving (normal) and sport mode when I want to get on it. Hardly ever in S-Sport so I am not worried much about that since you can't select that on the fly.

They offered to retune it but I am going to stick with the OTS map. The AP ease in switching maps was sweet.

Was your tune done using open source or was it through the Accessport? If they tuned through Accesstuner you should still have a map that you can flash with the Accessport.

I went from stock to stage 3. I haven't had any problems. I'm running 91 octane fuel. The only problem I had was the exhaust tips were high and rubbing the bumper. A few tweaks and I got it lower. I love how it sounds too (I got the quad tip). I was fortunate that I have a family member with a hoist though. My uncle, dad and myself installed it ourselves without any problems. I did swap the clutch to an 05952A Exedy clutch (Exedy Cerametallic Stage 2 Clutch Kit) and flywheel to an MF05 Exedy flywheel. I'm not sure if anyone was any experience with the stock clutch and stage 3 kit?
