Could tuners and ap pros give their opinions on map reading please?

Hi guys,

I have a 2014 GSR which is stock other than the COBB AP v3 + CHFF.
I ran the Stage 1 + CHFF v403 93 oct and I was getting consistent overboost in the 29+ range. I was also experiencing knock counts of up to 6 although at different rpms/gears, but every pull always gave a knock of 6 at some point.
I then used the 91 oct map and experienced much of the same, high knock at random points, and consistent overboost in the 29 range.

Today I started using the stage 1+CHFF LWG 93 oct and these are the readings.
Three back to back to back pulls in 70 degree weather.
Boost consistently hits 27, though much of the knock is gone with the exception of last pull where there were a few 1's.
Is this something to worry about as I know the target boost should be 24?

I also read a while back that running a stage 2 was better (even without stage 2 mods) but that was before the v403 maps, does anyone know if this is still the case?

Thanks guys in advance for taking a look!

Also is there any other data that i should be logging and paying closer attention to?
I'm new to this so taking it one step at a time, all I'm keeping an eye out for is PSI and knock really.
Thanks

You have a Turbo Car a wideband is REQUIRED not optional.
No wideband no tuning. Thats how you determine the afr its tuning 101 and I wouldnt reccomend changing anything without first reading Merlins guide.

When i was running stock airbox with k&n filter and cat back exhaust and the correct cobb map to go with that i was boosting 28 psi as well, i then got a high flow cat and cobb intake and flashed to the stage 2+ intake whatever the map is called, still boosting like 27, next part was the cobb 3 port boost control solenoid, re flashed to stage 3+ and the boost is rite at 24 psi as the map is designed to run at, car runs much better now, maybe 1 count of knock here and there but its much better and not over boosting,

do you have a boost control solenoid in you car now?

Hi,
No i do not have a 3 port yet.
I'm going to install the AEM wideband this weekend, my thinking is if the afr looks good and knock count is low then it's safe. Also just checked and my 2014 still has those bad fuel relays which were a problem since 2008, so hoping to pick those up from the dealership too.
Did you continue to run the AP with high boost or did you unmarry and run stock until you had the parts to move to the next stage?
thanks.

I left it alone and waited to install the other parts, just be nice to the go fast pedal and you should be fine, and pick up a 3 port

Just Curious, doesn't the AP monitor the AFR?

Not very accurately, to the point of it not being too useful.

Should just ditch the AP altogether and use EvoScan. I was a firm believer in Cobb during my Subaru days. There's a reason they pretty much stopped supporting the Evo crowd ages ago. There are just soooooo many better options out there.
