Hey so I've been looking at buying a 2013 Evo x that has an Injen cold air intake and upper ic as well as a catback exhaust. I took it to a mechanic and the mechanic said everything looked fine. The guy selling said he is running a Cobb stage 2 tune on the car with this kit as well as catback exhaust.

My question is, is it bad for the cars motor in the long run to be running the cobb tune with Injen parts? On Cobbs website it lists their parts for the tunes, is it bad that other manufactures (Injen in this case) is on it with the Cobb tune?

Its not "bad" for the motor or anything. The only reason they say that is because the car in question was tuned while using their parts specifically. An Injen intake isn't going to be all that much different than a COBB intake CFM wise etc etc. Just keep in mind the car they used to build that tune, was using COBB parts, that's why they specify COBB specific.

 

appreciate the reply man, I ended up emailing COBB support and they made and sent a custom map for me with the Injen intake.

 

Ah gotcha man. Do they charge you for that? And if so (if you dont mind me asking) how much do they charge per tune? Thanks!
