My try at the local 1/8th mile track.
Well, I've had my car for about a month 1/2 now. I've made about 6 or 7 passes at the local 1/8th mile track. tonight was a good night. the temperature was around the low 70's. the humidity was about 70%. I don't know the altitude. It is pretty high here. reason being the nickname of the track is call, The Hill. basically if you go thru the sand trap and the catch net, you go of a nice little cliff. the finally prepped the track tonight. the usually only prep the track on saturday for the sactioned nhra stuff, but when I pulled up they where spraying down vht. my first pass I try to launch pretty hard. I usually have to launch hard and spin enought not to bog to much. not tonight I launch and it felt like i popped a wheelie.hahaha... I bog and only ran a 9.1 but I cut a .568 rt. anywho mine next pass I figured I would do good clutch slip style launch. I launched at 5800 and didn't get any burnt clutch smell or slip.

1/8th mph: 79.48
here's a pic of the slip.
I think if I can get my 60's down a little bit. I could get into the 8.6's my current mods are listed in my sig. I hope to be ordering my exhaust next week. then hopefully I can get my times down a little bit more. my plans are a full TB exhaust, 272 cams, some kinda piggyback computer. I'm thinking about doing head studs while the car is apart for the cams. correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the head studs be installed with out removing the head. I though I read that some where. I could be wrong. I'm gonna have the car tuned at dyno4mance, once I get everything. I can't wait. I'm hopeing to break into the 7's with this. then next spring I might do a turbo upgrade of some sort. thanks

What was the other car in the other lane ?
Yes head studs could be installed w/o removing the head.
Whether its right/wrong or safe ? Its up to you.
When I got mine installed, we did it the right and safe way. In my opinion. Removing the head. Putting in a new OEM headgasket, torque the studs in placing the head back on the car. Then torquing the washers and nuts on top center out.
