I would consider getting rid of the k&n Typhoon intake. I had it on my EVO for a while and it was robbing my power. I went back to the stock set-up and it is so much better. My power mods are a tb exhaust, basic dynoflash, and a profec b @ 20-21psi and I recently ran 5 runs in the 12.50's @ 110-111mph.

OK I have been told that before but I also heard that once it was tuned I was ok. The diameter of the pipe seems to be the same as the stock setup so I figured I would have been fine. Basically took all the kinks out of the inlet pipe and put a good breathing filter on the end. If there should be a 3inch turbo inlet pipe on there with my setup, then I would definitely say there lies the problem. I will have to call someone on Monday. Thanks for the input.

There's one easy way to tell - put the stock airbox back on. Incidentally, I ran 13.2 @ 101 this summer in Houston in 90+ weather & 90+ humidity with cat back, flash, and MBC at 20 PSI so you're way off on your power levels. Also, with the G-Tech (unless they have changed it) it measures your trap speed as the actual speed as you cross the 1/4 mile mark but the drag strip calculates your average speed over the last 330' (I think ) of the track, so the GTech will always five you a higher trap speed.

Yeah, there is definitely a problem somwhere. I think it has to be in the tuning since there are many others with my parts that are running much better. AS far as the stock air box is concerned, I lent that to a friend of mine and he used it for something so I cant get that back.

Yeah man, I would definately look to your tune. You have a lot of money invested in mods and should be running much faster times; and much higher trap speeds. I was running better times than that with a catback, MBC, and dynoflash.

Do you have a Wideband O2 hooked up? I'm wondering if you know what A/F your running since you installed the new (working) fuel pump. If I can help out in any way lemme know.

I dont have a wideband but I am thinking the tuned got fowled when the pump was dying. I may be super rich and not even know it. I know I can smell the gas though from the tail pipe. I wish there was something you could do to help but this looks like something thats out of my area. Unless you are an expert at tuning the UTEC and have a wideband then . I called BR and didnt seem too enthused of what had to be said there. I got the feeling that I needed to sell all of my parts but the BR stuff and buy their BR parts to get it back on track. Thats just not an option. I spoke to Turbo Trix and Mark had no problems with what I have and sounds very positive to getting me dialed in. I am probably stuck with what I have until January when I can ship this car out. I am hoping for the best here. I think the car needs to be diagnosed first and then the upgrades can continue. Thanks for chiming in.

Tampa: Buschur does not like the UTEC. I think you're problem (or theirs depending on how you look at it) lies there. Just a thought. Good luck, I hope you resolve your issues.

thanks man. That was one downside I had mentioned earlier when I thought about this. I am not opposed to switching over if that helps but I still got the impression my setup was crap.

Good luck man... You definitely have lower times in there. I am Buschur stage1 + Custom Dynoflash, and ran a 12.81 @ 107.24 on Friday at MIR (basically sea level) with most of my runs in the 12.9 - 13.1 range at 104-106mph.

I think all of those tuners you listed have proven to be good. It seems like you're doing the right thing talking to them and seeing whose recommendations you feel most comfortable with. I'm anxious to do a bit more in the springtime too, I really want to be doing low 12s. I was happy thought to be consistently beating a slightly modded 996 by about 1/2 second every run!

If you run 13.99 and lower, you need a helmet. Actually, here's a 2004 NHRA chart of what you need @ certain speeds:

Do they tune the UTEC? Its not so much of a chop job on installation but more of a tuning issue I think. All the parts were/are installed good. Thanks

Those are good traps for you. With some type of launch control I would think you would be mid 12's.
