MR 1/4 mi. time (dynoflash)

Today I got to make just one pass at the track..After having some difficulty launching the car my previous visit, I decided to launch on the 5k limiter..I didn't get a practice launch or anything so when I went up it was my first time using this method..I was a very clean, smooth, uneventfull launch with no burning of the clutch (no smell)..This was my timeslip with a stock MR and dynoflash mail in type reflash with the boostflash..
60ft 1.836
330 5.319
1/8 8.217
mph 85.74
1000 10.741
1/4 12.862
mph 103.87
I think my trap speed was kinda low, which I think was because I shifted 1-2,2-3 kinda early because the car next to me was ungodly loud and distracted me..Launch was not the greatest but it was clean and smooth, I was very pleased with how the car took off..I'm sure 1.7's are easily attainable now..When I was coming to the finish my RPM's were higher then normal and I tried to shift to 5th and that may have also played a part..Very crazy day at the track, waited like 4 or 5 hours to make one pass, only to find out there was nowhere near enough time to go into eliminations..Too many cars, not enough time..I got to see Al run a 9.9 which was pretty damn cool and see a few 6 second passes and a crapload of very fast cars...Mabye next time I'll get some better #'s if I get more then 1 try..

Petey, I'd say it's definitely that 5th gear mistake. If you look at your 1/8th-mile mph, it's way higher than stock. If you recall from my only trip to the track and only full run, I got an 8.4@80mph in the 1/8th on the 13.1 in my sig. If you are a full 5mph faster in the 1/8th, then you are a LOT faster. The fact that you only picked up 18mph in the 2nd 1/8th (vs my 24) means that you probably lost it in the attempted 5th gear shift. I don't think your 1-2/2-3 were bad at all...

nice times considering your pretty much stock, how exactly did you launch your car? I've used the 5k limiter also but my 60' times aren't so great.

Ok I have an update..I used the 5k limiter every time, seems to work pretty well without too much wear on the clutch..Useing the limiter seems to be easier on the clutch since there is not as much slip..I am posting my best et and best trap speed to date, 2 seprate runs..Wheelspin was the limiting factor for my 60 foot times and my 1/8 mph seemed to be down alittle probably because of this..There were cinders all over the launch pad and when I came to line up my tires were pretty much full of the cinders, no awd burnouts for me..This was at a different track from the previous times..
