1st time @ 1/8 mile after mods

In stock form I could only muster a 9.22@74 mph......now check out the times

rt .3135
60 ft 1.8617
330 ft 5.4709
1/8 et 8.4810
1/8 mph 82.92

I am still on the stock clutch, and I feel like it is restricting my 60 ft times, as I am afraid to be really aggressive out of the hole. I couldnt believe how much faster I am now though....I mean, I knew it was faster, but my gosh....almost 10mph faster trap speed, and .7 off my et. What do you guys think this would be in the 1/4?......oh, and I will have a video up tomorrow when I get to work.....slow dial up here at the house

Hmm, are you at very high altitude? Like Tuscon, Arizona, or somewhere in Colorado? If so, then I think the most important thing is how much of a gain you got from stock until now, and not so much what your actual times were. If you're at or near sea level, then we might need to dig a little further.

At 500 ft above sea level, here are my 1/8th mile times:
8.4@80 - stock (13.17@1043.89 1/4)
8.17@83.97 - K&N, S-AFC (12.83@106.3 1/4)

I would guess your 8.48@82.92 would lead to a 13.2@105 or so...

Your 60' isn't terrible, so although the stock clutch is holding you back some, you are doing a good job. If you can stay in the 1.8s with the 60', then you will get decent times and not kill your clutch/tranny more than likely.

well, Im in North AL, so, I dont know what the altitude is here. I really didnt pay as much attention as I should have to the tach when launching, but I believe it was somewhere in the 4k range

Actually it's not so bad, but with the mods you have you can see better times.

Hmm, well, in a vaccuum, you should be blowing my times out of the water, but there may be some variables I don't understand. I don't want to sit here and tell you that your power is WAY off, because there's no way to know that for sure from the info I've seen, but my stock time should not be so close to your laundry list of mods including cams.

Since you gained SO MUCH between the stock time/mph and modded time/mph, I am guessing that there is something wrong with the track or timing lights. I'm pretty sure that if you were making 290whp before the cams that you are making well over 300 now, so I don't think the 8.4@82 is a true reflection of the power you're making.

The tires on an 2003 are a big deal b/c of the no lsd on the front...I also have had problems w/****ty tires...but I am helping that out w/ some R-compounds...launching @ 4k seems a bit low...I know in the new MR's all the articles I read stated they could have had better times if they could have launched the car over the rev limiter of 5k...Did the launch bog/lag ne?? Overall though, it seems like you have a good combination of mods for some killer 1/8 times...My friend has videos of an evo (not sure where he got the vid) running 7.8 @ 90mph in the 1/8 with very close to the same mods...sooo I am thinking tires would help a ton and maybe launching a bit higher...although your stock clutch is will be biting the dust soon so I would start saving for a clutch and flywheel package...I am running the ACT and Fidanza combo..works great!

nothing wrong with the track, ive run at that same track before and my best 1/8 mile came from that track. I went to a 1/4 mile track and my fastest of the day there was a 7.75 only 3 hundreths slower, but still pretty consistent.

vroom what rpm are you shifting at?

thats strange that you arent getting faster times. I ran an 8.1 @ 85 with only a flash, mbc and muffler delete pipe.

the only other thing i can think of is maybe you are bogging off the line.

the mph is right for the time, but not for the mods. i think you should be trapping anywhere from 8-10 mph faster.

Not right at all. Remember to look at my times/mph. I just have the S-AFC and hit 84mph in the 1/8th. You should be hitting 87-88 at least. Actually, I don't know how your bud EvilDylan is going 117mph in the 1/4 without cams or 91 in the 1/8th, but if he does that at the same track, then I would say you should be doing what he's doing, since you DO have cams.
