As in, No-Lift-To-Shift (NLTS), aka Powershifting? I do that only on the 3-4 shift. I haven't tried on the 1-2 or 2-3, because those are pretty volatile shifts, and I don't wanna hurt the syncros.

So do you constantly have to tune the SAFC or can you leave it alone once you find the "sweet spot?" I have a custom tune from DynoFlash and was thinking about buying a SAFC to fine tune it. I think my car is a fat up top, but I don't want to be costantly making changes.

WOW! those times are awesome. what RPM are you shifting in 1-4th? If you get a flash it should raise your rev limiter.

No, once you get it right, then it's good at least for those conditions. Once conditions change, the optimum settings change. This is the same with a flash. Your flash is a great tool, but it doesn't adapt itself to changes in temp, humidity, boost levels, and octane. At best, you have multiple maps for different octane, but then you'd have to know what octane you'd be using in the future. It could be 100, 104, 108, 110, 112, or c16, all of which require a different tune in different weather conditions.

After about 4 runs yesterday, I got to the point where my logs were just about "perfect," so I didn't change my S-AFC anymore. I didn't run any slower than 12.34 from then on...

After a hard launch, I tend to shift out of 1st right around 7k. It falls off abruptly if I try to wait longer. I shift out of 2nd and 3rd well above 7k...maybe 7300-7400. I then hold 4th to redline (7606) while wishing I had a higher rev limit.

The clutch was amazing...I did 20 passes in the last 2 days, all of which were 1.79 or better, and I never got any slippage. My last run yesterday was a 1.72 60' en route to a 12.24, and it held up perfectly.

I then packed up and went home, and suddenly it was slipping a few hundred rpm on the highway in the higher gears when boost would build. I was still at 22-23psi on the 104oct, so there was a bit more torque than I'm used to, but even so, it was definitely slipping. I have to be honest about it...

I'm about to go find out if it was just slippery from being hot all day and while driving at highway speeds for a while after racing all day, or if it's just worn down to the end. If so, I'll be sure to relay that info.

I'm having the same problem now, I have over 100 passes on the stock clutch and its just starting to slip now in 4th and 5th gear with the stock boost solenoid in place. It all started about 4 weeks ago when I was at Island, I made about 15 passes most of which were 1.7's (finally got the lanuch down) then on the way home in 5th gear when I smashed the gas I noticed my RPM holding for a second before picking up and I knew the clutch was slipping.

You can bring it back though if you drive it for a few hundered miles like normal and were the "glaze" off the disk it should seat back and grip well again. But its only a matter of time before happens again. My clutch was so bad that even .1 bar of boost it would slip but with careful driving for a while I have it where I can make a full pull in 3rd gear and it doesn't slip. However in forth or fifth on the highway its a different story, no way to stop the slipping unless you s l o w l y roll into the throttle.

Anyway congrats again on your awesome times. Maybe some day you'll be up in the NE and you can give me some pointers.

Thanks for the tip. I just assumed the clutch was shot for good. I can still drive it fine, but I can't boost at all in any gear without some slip. I'm trying to not test it out anymore so that it doesn't just go completely. I want to be able to drive to work and such, but since I have auto-x events coming up very shortly, I will probably just get it replaced right away.

I have the same situation as you, I have a custom Dynoflash tune and added and SAFC on top of it. I will confirm my tune was VERY RICH up top. Al tunes this way to keep it safe for all types of weather, but at the track for best performance you have to lean it out. On my last trip to the track I had first put in the SAFC and started off slowly tuning it but by then end of the night, I had it leaned out -18% from 5000 RPMS up, and I still wasnt getting any knock cause I was getting full timing advance throughout the run with no dips in any gear. This was at a 26 psi spike running 2 gallons of C16 mixed into about 2 gallons of 93 octane. I probably could have leaned it out even more, but I wanted to keep a margin of saftey in the tune cause my O2's were at .92 up top and I felt that it was lean enough, but safe enough for me to not blow it up. My O2s before I started leaning it out were about 1.02-super rich. This was in 80 degree weather.

Well I put my car on a Innovative wideband today. Doing a 3rd gear run from 60 mph to 7500 rpm and it was reading about 11.2 to 11.4 til redline i beleive. I'm not sure if I want to get a S-AFC now or not.

That's definitely not rich and sounds good. Did you happen to log the timing advance up to 7500rpm?

Can't say I did. I didn't even know that it would do timing.
