Proper timing advance is more important than just the AFR, but your flash also controls timing, so I bet it was good anyway. I don't know about your wideband; I just know my narrowband pocket logger tracks timing, which helps immensely.

Warrtalon, what was your pocket logger showing for timing at 7000 to 7500 RPM?

I was reaching 20 by 7k every run, then it would slowly climb to 21-22 by 7500.

All the Innovative wideband shows is air fuel ratios. My custom reflash has all the timing adjusted to the tune, but I was just wondering if a SAFC would really be worth fine tunning my a/f's since they are pretty good as they are. I know some people like thier car at about 11.7 to 11.8 and I'm not sure if that'll make that much of a difference to go and buy one.

Its worth it if you like having control over your tune. If your a set it and forget it type of person who wants to rely on getting retuned by Al everytime you get a new mod on your car, then dont bother with it. If you want to optimize your car for any type of weather you may encounter when you go to the track or you want to be able to tune it yourself for new mods then its definetly worth it, however you will need a datalogger to get the most out of it.

My car was tuned on the dyno to about 11.2, leaning it out I gained 4 mph with no knock on race gas

I don't use race gas and don't want to start.

Why not? It's good to do both pump and race gas runs to see the true potential in both scenarios. As for me, I just used 104 unleaded, which is not even that serious, since you can buy 100oct at some gas stations. 110+ leaded is another story...

Cause I liek build my car for what it's gonna do everyday not just at the track. I know it sounds kinda retarded, but I don't want to spend even more money for gas that I already do. Plus the closest pump to me that sells turbo blue is like 20 or so miles from my house and it just isn't worth it for me.

When I post times you know that what every my car runs it's on ol' 93.

What AFRS were you seeing during your maximum power runs?

6spd ... shouldn't he be in 5th gear @ the end of a 1/4 run? ...not like you got a 5spd... great runs though  ...since when did Safc's do timing? ...

Pump (93):
Best ET - 12.644@106.04 1.748 60' (Flat timing in 4th gear = weak mph)
Best MPH - 12.698@107.21 1.795 60' (Last run on pump I had just finally figured out how to get my timing to start advancing some...even on this it didn't go above 14 in 4th)
Best 60' - 12.654@106.26 1.711 60' (One of my great runs that fell flat in 4th from bad tuning)
Best 1/8th ET - 8.024@84.57 1.711 60'
Best 1/8th MPH - 8.132@86.31 1.774 60' (No clue how I hit 86 on this one, since my trap was only 104.76...)

Mixed gas (4gal 93/4gal 104)
Only got one run - 12.344@110.71 1.789 60' (Culmination of finally figuring out my timing advance along with some higher octane. Didn't get a chance to run at this power level a 2nd time, otherwise with a 1.75 60', it would have been a 12.2x. I also hit the rev limiter in 4th 2 counts before the finish line, so it should have been 111+ if not for the stock rev limiter)

The most valuable tuning lesson I learned tonight was not to focus on O2s first, but rather timing. I was getting a good AFR, but my timing was flat. I had to richen it up some to get the timing curve back to normal in 4th. I didn't understand that my tuning was now different with higher boost due to the different timing maps my ECU was choosing because of the higher airflow levels. Now I know...
great times , this is why i went with the gsr ssl. 4th gear good till 125 mph

Only low 11s, but my timing curve was beautiful and was maxing at 21-22 at the top of 4th.
