I attached the picture of the slip, it doesnt scan very well so you have to look pretty hard to see.
Then where did you get the idea of doing such a strange and complicated launch method on your first try. In 8 years of racing AWD turbo-4s, I've never even once considered or thought of such a method. Did you just randomly try some crazy combination of weird stuff? You only had it since September, but you knew about the 5k limiter and how to utilize it (not that it worked, but the thought counts)? The first time I hit that 5k limiter at the track, I thought I broke something...

Yeah, can't see the slip.

Well, after experiencing the way both the EVO/WRX drive I noticed that the clutch on the evo was a lot trickier to launch with. Although I don't feel like going into why I felt what I felt, the conclusion I came down to was that the EVO's clutch engaged later and had a much smaller "area of engagement" I guess you could call it. Put simply; If you launch both cars the exact same the EVO will bog pretty hard. This is not to mention the weak clutch and super grippy tires = no tire spin. Already knowing about preloading I decided to try it out for multiple reasons, it reduces drivetrain shock even more, produces better consistency (in my opinion), and is easier to do. I didn't want to roast 10,000 miles off of my clutch just learning to launch if you know what I mean.

anyway, Im getting a little so i'll shut up...

Member "Boltz." was busted by moderator timzcat in the "which is better the white rabbit or 20g" (check out posts 147 and 148 here) and suspended for having multiple EvoM accounts. According to the mod, he is the same person as evolved member eve-slow. Some might find that relevant info. for assessing credibility here.

Ah, I see. As recently as late July, he was hitting 12.6s with weak mph in his 03 Evo with alky in hot weather and complaining about misfires. I don't see much after that, so I suppose he sold the 03 and got a new 05? I can't imagine why he'd go to this weird e-brake method and act like he's brand new to Evo's, though...especially when he was hitting low 1.7s in the 03.

55-60 degrees is great, but I watched an 03 Evo with 20g, AEM EMS, Cams, and race gas trap 107 last week in the same temps. Obviously he wasn't running optimally, but it's a good comparison when we're talking about a stock Evo running 1mph slower.

First of all, I was banned yes. But I didn't do a damn thing, hence why I am back and now posting. Someone got onto my username at my house because I left myself signed in and made those comments. Me and my brother both have Evo's, his=RR mine=WW.

If you dont believe me I don't give a damn anymore. It took enough B.S. for me to get my name back after doing NOTHING WRONG. So I care very little about what certain people think. Too much drama

Boltz

A.K.A. NOT EVE-SLOW

Not a bad assumption, but he cut a 1.73 60' en route to a 12.7 at 107.8...better than most people here, but the car just wasn't making much power.

i really dont see enough validation here for people to even bother themselves trying to figure out why his 05 is so much better then others. No legitimate timeslip, no dyno #'s, no nothing really. do us all a favor and bring a camera with u next time!
