I myself am not bashing the slips or his car, but it so odd, and yes odd, that a guy can cut a 1.9 horrible 60' and go on to run 7.9 -8.0 at 94 in the 1/8. and practically die in the back half on power. at least that is how i read the slip.either he is shifting really bad and slow in the 3-4 or riding 3rd out way to far without cams. i believe the times but i also believe something isnt adding up. but hey, anything can happen at any time right! Good job anyway, you have a time slip to prove it and thats all the matters. btw, for an example: my best:
60' 1.71
1/8 7.7 @ 91
1/4 12.14 @115

05 w\ 10.5
272/272
full 3" no cat
ebc
ect.

Warrtalon makes a lot of sense.

I have 264/272 cams and with a decent 1.70 launch I only trapped 88.5mph on the my best run. My 1/4 trap speed was 113.8 (93 pump gas), so I picked up 25.3 mph in the last half.
This guy's time slip is weird. It pulled like a rocket to the 1/8, or at least that's what the (almost) 94mph indicates, and then faded down to 113. He only picked up 19 miles. Not only that, did anyone noticed that the 1/8 time is a down-to-earth 7.93? My 1/8 time was 7.75 with just 88.5mph.

Anyways, congratulations on that great run, Dropspeed!

I didn't know what was a bad thing. I suppose I could use second-hand knowledge instead of personal experience if you'd like...

I can start now - go read what matt55, Turbojunkie, and EvoFunk just said. They all trap higher and run quicker than this car in the 1/4, but were significantly slower in the 1/8th with more powerful cars. I did mention that you should look at ALL EVOs so that you would realize how ~94mph in the 1/8th is in no way feasible for this car's mods, nor it's splits or eventual 1/4-mile et/mph.

HAHA oh man, I just about pissed myself.

On topic: I have to agree that the 1/8 mph doesn't seem right. I think everything is legit other than the 1/8mph. Just seems stupid high, every other interval seems correct.

I looked at all my slips from y evo that are in the 112-114mph range. Not one single pass has more 1/8 mph than 91. Many in there with good short times. Similar setup with stock turbo and cams.

Was this car shifted on the 3-4 shift at like 8000rpm? That would be a logical reason for a big 1/8mph and a "slower than expected" 1/4mph gain.

i would have to agree with this or warrtalon's first point that maybe the track was reading higher mph then it really was, like with his car. this is why he was talking about himself and his car, and i think it makes a lot of sense. he's not saying the car isnt capable of good times, but he should back it up by duplicating it again at another track or just another day.

either way good 1/4 mile time!

I ran 91.34 in the 1/8th and trapped at 111.06, so I gain less than 20mph in the back half. If I was breaking loose on the launch, I would have a slower 60' than 1.688 obviously and most likely also have a higher MPH trap in the 1/8th and the quarter. I shift at about 7,300 in third.

Wow! looks like I missed a bunch...............anyway. I dynoed the car today at Wheel to Wheel in MI, AWD Mustang Dyno.

The results are here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=173748

This was on straight 94 octane pump..............made 301 whp and 281lbft at the wheel

Peak torque at 4100 rpm...........does that explain anything. If not then the 1/8 mph is off at this track??????

There is about 6 inches of snow on the ground so you guys can debate until spring and I will run the car again at that time
