The car made 420whp on Vishnu's dyno on 100 octane = about 485whp on dynojet.

The guy drove the Vette pretty decently actually. He didn't mess up. His traps varied between 121-124mph. (someone claimed that he kept misshifting)
His demise were his 60" times-all between 2.1 to 2.3. The cold weather wasn't very condusive to good traction for his high power RWD car.

Had he had slicks, it might have been a different story.

What kept me from running low 11s is that frickin 4-5 shift. As you can hear in the video, I'm just leaving the car in 4th and hitting the rev limiter just before the finish line in this case and then putting it in neutral right after.
It beats the aternative-shifting into 5th.

I was just referring to the run against you. A 12.1 when making enough power to trap 124mph could be accomplished by a monkey. I've been doing 12.1s with 111mph. Granted, that's with 1.7 60's, but with another 10-13mph, you can more than make up for a 2.1 60'. Against you on that specific run, he didn't drive/launch too well.

Vettes are amazing cars stock and surpass most, even when compared to an evo. But it only takes a fraction of the difference in cost between the two cars to get in an Evo and rape C6's all day long. End of story! It is nieve of anyone who neglects to metion this.

EX: Take 1/2 the difference in price $20k in mods, and hopefully anyone in here could beat a C6 in any condition. Plus an Evo is somewhat more practical... THAT is why i bought an Evo.

the new c6 z06 is a beast. also for everyone that says u pay less for the evo and can put that extra money into mods to be as fast, that is true but i always look at it like this. you are usually paying more money for a greater platform. it might cost you more but if you have that kinda money its not a problem. just think of the potential of that z06

you guys are starting to compare the two cars which just isn't right. That Z06 will rape most cars costing twice the amount while keeping the FACTORY WARRENTY. That warrenty is worth alot right there.

Stock for stock .. we know what car would win, but its just nice to see an evo win. You think that guy in the Zo6 will have his warranty for Long.

Good run. Stock or modified, drive the car that you're happy with.

Most of the Vette posts are reasonable comments, even the ones that still can't accept that the Evo won (that race).

The one guy said that the Vette ran an 11.7 just previously, I guess the Evo's 11.6 still bests that.

..... but when ever they play the "looks" card it makes me laugh because that's exactly how I feel about the Vettes for the most part. I know that most of you guys like 'em and that's fine, but as far as looks go, they make me think "Lounge Lizard Limo" .

I'm 51 and they give ME the creeps! They make me think of terms like:
Swank
Playboy
Black Vinyl Booth with a Martini
Hair Spray
Pressed Slacks with a sharp crease, a French collar shirt, & Loafers
Obnoxious Cologne, Hai Karate or something (REALLY showin' my age on that one)
Mold

I mean, looks-wise, most Vettes just strike me as so Yester-year. I know it's more aero- dynamic, and is more stable at really high speeds (not talking curves and corners).

But then, therein lies the beauty, to each his own for his own reasons.

The Evo is just plain Funky, like a bow-legged monkee (to me)
and I like Funky.
- oops there I go again :-)
