new c6 z06 video is amazing there is a video of a stock c6 z06 doing 10.9 on racing slicks. The car most definitely has a lot of potential.

Here is a video of a better driver in a stock c6 z06

Enjoy.

just to throw my 2 cents in but the z06 was in stock trim, so its kinda presumptuos to say that the evo is so much better than the z06 when you are running a modded evo. The regular c5 with a super/intercooler package is pushing 200 hp above stock (400 hp to 600 hp) so a simple upgrade like that on the c6 z06 from 505hp to 700hp. i think this and slicks would produce a fast car. The lingenfelter c5 z06 with 725 hp and slicks ran high 9's.

who says evo is better than z06.. that is a foolish. the new zo6 is a WORLD CLASS SUPER CAR. The car is the result of the world's largest corporation spending lots of money to develop a world beater.

**** for that kind of money you could get the AMS gt42 kit and be right there with him in the 9s. With 2 liters woot. You would still be cheaper than a z06 with a procharger and how boostable is the ls7 anyway? Of course you wouldn't have a corvette, but I wouldn't want a corvette. Not everybody likes those cars. I like racing them though. Too bad the C6 wouldn't line up with me last time I was at the track. The turbo Porsche did though

Well put. I was never a fan of the vettes until the new body style and new performance upgrades. Heck that car just rips up the track, i would never want to meet that car on the road, it will serve up most cars a sever beatin.

The s2000 and z06 both run 11.1:1 compression ratios and the comptech supercharger kit for the s2000 runs 6.5psi of boost so theoreitcally it would be possible to supercharge the new z06 although i am not sure if there are any kits specifically for that engine are out yet. And true the AMS gt42 kit plus fixins would be cheaper but its always easier/cheaper to mod cars with aftermarket parts and get drastically higher hp numbers than the factory car. I've seen guys buy crx's and fox body mustangs and throw 20k and definately score bigger numbers than the z06. Plus look at driveability. There is probably a reason AMS doesnt recommend driving it on the street. But adding 6-7psi of boost wont produce an extremely nonlinear hp curve or be laggy at low rpm and you can run pump gas with those same power levels.

There is one company actually if you google it i forget their name, but they have cammed, full header back exhaust, some ecu modifications to the new z06, and well lets just say that bad boy is moving and they said they are currently working on a supercharger. Its only a matter of time, i would be content with having that car stock.

LG Motorsports has a car with their headers and fairly big cam (no tuning) putting down 540whp. Displacement is nice.

No doubt the 42r kit isn't that "streetable" but what do they mean by that? I mean obviously it is laggy as hell. Even with my 35r kit and a built motor I would probably be close to a procharger z06. I think assuming you are going to just slap a supercharger on that car and automatically make 200 hp more is a stretch. I know my car right now would be able to take most stock z06s and I have no built motor. Can I do it every day on pump gas? From a dig I would probably still give one a run for its money. Figure I run a 12.0-12.2 @ 114-115 or so on pump and most of those guys can't seem to drive their cars for a ****.

All you guys can have your vette if somebody gave me one I would sell it and buy parts for my car.

Exactly, 1 cam and the car will make 550+ rwhp!...on pump gas, and it'll still drive smooth as stock. I'd say some people will be running low 10's-9's with bolt on's(no FI or internal work) and slicks ON pump gas.

You're right, it would probably take full bolt ons and a 75-100 shot to hit 9's.
