I wouldn't go that far. Racing slicks header back exhaust, cams, tune it will get you darn close to that 9.9 area. Like i stated before video on the net somewhere of a black z06 on racing slicks stock doing 10.9

Yeah, a cam would work too. I was thinking N20 if you didn't want to touch the motor.

I think assuming you are going to just slap a supercharger on that car and automatically make 200 hp more is a stretch. I know my car right now would be able to take most stock z06s and I have no built motor. Can I do it every day on pump gas? From a dig I would probably still give one a run for its money. Figure I run a 12.0-12.2 @ 114-115 or so on pump and most of those guys can't seem to drive their cars for a ****.

All you guys can have your vette if somebody gave me one I would sell it and buy parts for my car.
The regular c6 of 6.0 liters made 150 extra whp w/ just a super (http://www.vetteweb.com/features/vemp_0601_procharger/) the dyno charts are at the bottom. Since the z06 hase more displacement that would result in more power per psi of boost.

The cams and header c6 z06 (http://lgmotorsports.com/gallery/dis...?album=3&pos=8) made 130 extra whp over the stock z06 (http://lgmotorsports.com/gallery/dis...?album=3&pos=0) so if the just the supercharger wont make an extra 200 hp then its only a header or a cam away before you are well beyond that.

Bro...... a Z51 does NOT = z06 get your facts straight b4 you post a link like that. Skylnes are impressive dont get me wrong and so are Evo's. But you didnt post a link showing a skyline beatin a z06.

Arg I hate talking HP figures anyway... Show me real world performance I.E. actual times or results. People claim this hp and that hp; trap speed in the 1/4 mile will tell you how much power you have. I know a C5 vette that has a procharger on it and he runs mid 11s @ 120 mph and his friend drove it because he could only manage a high 11. Real world performance is all I care about.

Thats nice they said they gained 130 hp now go run a 10.50 @ 133 mph that will tell me if they really did gain that much power.

Sorry if I seem so cynical, but I have seen too many times people say "oh I gained this and that and my car will run this and that" and then they go to the track and run like ****. Too much hype and not enough times on the board.

As far as the "your comparing stock z06s to modded evos" comment goes, of course we are. My mods and my car still doesn't add up to what I would pay to get a z06 stock. I could still buy a built engine and transmission and then I would be close to a stock z06 price range (60-65k).

Having said all that I do like that video of the z06 hitting 11.5 @ 127, that is what I want to see.

My main point was that with 7.0 liter of displacement it does not require a lot of mods to increase hp. And as far as real world numbers go the c5 with a 7.0 liter from lingelter and 725 hp ran a 9.5@141 so it is not too far fetched to say a c6 with the same hp could not do the same.

I'm just saying show me the numbers and I don't mean hp. The only reason I don't like hp claims is because people exaggerate and stretch figures to make them look better than they usually are. I want times. If the car is modded properly I guarantee it will run the numbers you state, but I want to see them done and a reality like all the 10 second street evos you see in the videos.

Times =

BSing and talking about what your "going to run" is not my thing. This is why I could never be a street racer, I would pull my hair out having to listen to all the retards BS about how great their cars supposedly are. The track doesn't lie. I love the track

That's a pretty weak argument because you could do the same in just about any car. Heck, you could take a srt4 for 20k and run faster than a EVO for less money.....does that make it better? A '06 Mustang GT could out perform a Z06 in every way for <40k....does that make it better? No.

I never said the evo was better period that is a subjective thing. I was just saying you can build a faster evo for the same money. My opinion is that the evo is better but that is my opinion. I love the evo's ability to perform like a corvette at the track and the strip and still haul four people around town comfortably. I like the fact that you can have practicality and perform like a big displacement monster with only 2 liters. I like forced induction because of its engineering geeky appeal. All of it is subjective. My opinion is the evo is better and you obviously like the vette so leave it at that.

All I have to say, is the C6 Z06 is badass, an exotic at half the price...When they come down a bit in price im going to add one to the stable, thats for sure

The regular c5 with a super/intercooler package is pushing 200 hp above stock (400 hp to 600 hp) so a simple upgrade like that on the c6 z06 from 505hp to 700hp. i think this and slicks would produce a fast car. The lingenfelter c5 z06 with 725 hp and slicks ran high 9's.

Not one person in this entire thread said that an evo, modded or not, is better than a c6 Z. Can you read?
