Finally...
Went to Irwindale Speedway last night...
OFF TOPIC- What a great drag strip, only 1/8th mile, but man if you love drag racing and you live in So Cal, it's got to be one of the best spots. In two hours I got in 7 runs. It's straight up heads up, no different classes, you just get in line and what ever you happend to be in line with you run against, you run and get in line again and run again. Why can't all So Cal drag strips have this concept?
Went to Irwindale Speedway last night and I must admit it was pretty frustrating. People were surprised at how fast my EVO was, but what they didn't know was that it should be much faster. So I was just a ball of frustration until I looked in line and saw a beautiful 2006 White EVO IX MR. I talked to the owner of the MR, and he gave me some pointers, and boy did he help. Finally a freakin' sub 2.0 60ft. My last and best run I did a 1.876. Honestly I thought it was a very sh*tty pass, had trouble getting into third gear, and was so frustrated. Got to time slip booth and the guy told me I can't run anymore without a helmet . Ran a 8.604@82.73MPH with a missed shift, boy this IX is fast. I do have Works drop in air filter now. Who ever that EVO IX MR owner was, thanks a lot for your help

Every upgraded turbo STI here in town has never gotten out of the 8's. There are at least three and none of them has seen 7's.
It seems the one with less stuff done run better IMO. Last Sat. I ran a 20G equipped 06' STI with a FMIC and I ran a 8.06 @ 87.3 mph and he ran a 8.75 @ 78.26 mph. I talked to him later on our local board and he said his car was tuned for 15psi. He should run faster than that stock.
Sounds like you've got it figured out. Just practice a bit more and I'm sure you'll be getting 1.7's with no problem. You still using the rev limiter thing the 05's and 06's come with? I'm sure that don't help.
