Race gas + boost.

I recently got custom tuned by Al at dynoflash and love it. But i was wondering is if i throw 100oct in the tank on almost empty how much boost is about safe for the track?
I run 1.5bar even in 4th and 5th.
how much boost is safe on 100octane.

Try 24-25psi. It should work with no problem. You probably have a dual-stage flash built in, too, so be sure to only turn up the boost that high when on the race gas.

Oh, btw, you don't have to be empty to use the 100oct. You can even do a 50/50 mix and still hit 24-25psi peak without issues...plus, you get to enjoy it longer.

I threw some 110 in my car and turned the boost up to 26lbs and tapered down to like 24lbs. Ran strong and I didn't knock or anything. I only did this for a little bit though to run some STi who was talking way too much, I wouldn't run it alot.

If you are running 91 crap gas then I would go 75% 103VP and 25% pump. If you have 93 octane then you should be able to get away with 50/50 at 25 psi like mentioned earlier. Not sure what you all have up in Salt Lake. Thought I would throw in the 91 octane equation...

From my reliable sources, if you're running just 100oct you can run 27-28psi. If you're running a mix then it's better to be down around 24-25.

you would be lucky to hold 22psi up in s.l.c so all he will do is spike like crazy but the turbo runs out of air quick up here
you will be fine upping the boost

Cool man, I know it wont hold much but the spike should atleast give me a bit more tq. And more area under the curve..
So straight 100 octane ill be safe around 25psi..
Sounds good guys ill let you guys know the results on 15apr.
I will run 1 run on 91 pump that i should have less than a 1/8th of atank then put half a tank of 100oct. Run her again.

You can run a little bit more boost on straight 100oct.

But there's no reason to without a way to retune yourself, plus that puts you out of the turbo's efficiency range. Keep it at 24-25psi with your setup.

Are you guys ONLY adding boost or are you adding timing and leaning out the AFR as well?

When I had Jestr tune my car, he tuned it on 93, then we turned up the boost and he tuned it on straight 100oct. I'm running a 26psi spike on 100oct, we were going to keep going up with it and see what it would do on more, but we couldn't get it to spike any higher than that.

I personally add timing and lean out the AFRs in addition to raising boost, but not everyone has a self-tuning device. Even my device (SAFC) is very crude and only indirectly raises timing, but the ECU helps with that as it continues to add timing since there is no knock with the extra boost.

The strange thing is I cannot seem to get 25psi in the RPM range that I need it. I can get the car to spike that high at 3500 but after I'm into 2nd gear my boost stays about 20PSI or so. I think the only benefit I'm seeing is from the additional timing and slightly leaner AFR.

If there is a way to hold 25PSI in the higher RPM ranges I would like to hear about it.

Well, you don't realize that the boost is just tapering. You won't see 25psi on the drag strip, because you are never below 5500rpm. You see the 25+psi when you hit the boost spike at low rpm.

Also, you shouldn't ever be worrying about your boost in 2nd gear. That's before there's hardly even any load on the car. Look at your boost in 4th gear on the dragstrip. You definitely make power from the additional boost. You taper even further down when it's set at 21psi than when it's set at 25psi.
