Cecil Co Dragway 5/3

I tried again... I got a few runs in. Best time was 13.4, which I acknowledge still sucks. My R/T and 60' are to blame, i.e., me. Met a handful of really cool folks though.

Light, sean, tim and ben; nice to meet you guys. There was another guy there in an MR I did not meet. I will be there again next Wed., going to keep going until I get it right.

Keep trying, Thomas. Btw, the R/T has no effect on your time. You can sit there for 5 seconds, then launch, and it won't matter. The absolutely MOST important factor is your 60'. Concentrate on your launch instead of the lights, and you will figure it out.

Show me your splits, so I can help you analyze further. Ben (4TUN8) with the yellow Evo was there? How did he do?

After I stopped trying to dump the clutch, and started slipping more my 60 foots started getting better.

Pulled my first 1.7 short time with the 20g, went 12.1@116

Not bad, I'm starting to think that the initial runs that we made with the car trapping 119 might have been the track and not the car because I haven't been able to back that up on pump since.

All of my runs were 22psi of boost or less.

Of 5 total runs at the track I've "crunched" 2nd gear three times. I want to blame the syncro, but it could just as easily be me. I am used to road courses where smooth shifting = speed.

I don't know enough about drag racing yet. The perfect example, the 13.4 run; the pre-stage light went out, so I went to back up. In reverse, the first yellow lit up. In a scrable to get it back into 1st and the RPMs up to 5k, I got out of the gate but slow. 2.01ish. I ran 13.4 next to a SRT-4 that ran a 12.9. He wasn't stock, lumpy idle, exhaust, etc. He pulled off to chat after the run so the next pass was next to a built Camaro who ran upper 11s.

The run I did launch at 5k I bogged. My slips are at home but I'll post the times later tonight. I don't have a scanner though. I've hit a couple 1.9s and a couple 2.0s. Clutch is chattering almost as bad as my old lwt flywheel and 6-puck combo I had on my last car. My last run I just threw the slip out. When I bogged, I just took it easy and ran a 14

Thanks for the help, Warrtalon. I will keep going and trying. I will say this for myself; I am not pulling everything out of the car to make these passes. Next time I'll pull the spare tire, floor mats and my emergency tool bag and see if that helps

Light- I saw Sean pull up and run and noticed you were gone... see you next time.
