So close...

Went to Island Drag Way today and started doing some tuning on 75% methanol and started off with a 1.654 12.926 110.24 and within 3 more passes got it down to a 1.670 12.040 114.44 and the only changes I made were tuning the afr's. This map started off as my 50% map with conservative timing. Once I get the afr's dialed in as they are about 11.2-10.8 right now and start uping the timing I should be able to finally hit 11s.

Also went to the dragway today, first time racing and best time was a 1.848 60' and a 13.53 1/4 mile. Trap speed was only 97.52 though. Seems a little low no?

Mods are injen intake, hallman mbc, and tuned for 22psi.

UCC, good job. Be careful with going that lean on meth unless you have a failsafe built-in with the UTEC (guessing you do).

Ray, yeah, that is incredibly slow. That's about 3-5mph slower than stock. Normally, I'd point to the Injen, but you said you're tuned, so all the mods in your sig should be working well for about 110mph traps on 93oct.

I'd like to see the timeslip of that '1.654 12.926 110.24' pass. Should be at least mid 12 with that 60ft and trap speed unless you missed a shift or something.

He had to have missed a shift. That would normally be a 12.2 at that mph unless his shifting is slow - the 12.04 @ 114+ indicates a little shifting tardiness but nothing bad.

The 12.9 was from the UTEC pulling massive timing in second gear due to some knock caused by the really rich condition. I have it pull massive timing for any knock above a 3 count as an additional failsafe on top of the safeinjection. My shifting has certainly improved from the last couple outings, finally was able to pull a 4.9 330' which was what I believe was keeping me from 11s on my 50% meth mix. I will be tuning the 75% to afr's of 11.6-11.3 which is pretty safe by most standards. The one thing I am really impressed with this car is how well stock clutch is holding. The car now has about 60+ passes at the track this spring and still has plenty of life left in it. This drag racing gets so addicting, I will be going back this sunday I believe...

Looks like if the mitsu clutch holds well originally it's good to go for the long haul - must be the break in or something

I ran the car without the catback...haven't put it on yet. But the car was tuned for an intake and boost.
