The only othert true RH9 Evo 8 I know of is the AMS car which went 9.9 something at last years Evo vs WRX Shootout on radials with a full exhuast and no NOS
(Also TT went 9.9 but with NOS at the same event last year)
From what I could see about Mr. Brown's car it was not RH9
Dan Bejalis's car is RH9 legal as of today with radials for this race but sadly he did not run it

So Dan's car would also be one of these "RH9" cars then right? I dont think I understand.... Car needs to run a 9 second pass, be capable of driving on the street and needs to run the 9 without aid of nitrous or slicks.
So, is this quicktime hoosier or REAL BF drag radials or Nitto DR? There is a huge difference between real drag radials that you can run on the street and take trips in versus quicktimes or similiar.

This means
Full interior - carpet - dash - door panels - etc etc
Full exhuast
Funtional head lamps and tail lights etc
Sports car suspension and brakes capable of normal road sports use
Street legal and registerd
Street legal DOT approved full radial tires
NO NOS
I think the idea is to have a car you can drive on the roads and drive it right on the track and blast off a 9 second pass in the same state opf tune as you could drive it on the roads
RH9 is super respected in JDM and UK tuner circles as they respect real cars which can perform well both on and off the road
Gutted out super lightweight stripped evos on drag slips are cool but not RH9 legal
I am not sure whom exactly could be RH9 legal - but all I can say is that at this point I am the only current RH9 Evo 8 in the USA and the fastest ever on radial tires
Al, first off congratulations of your new RH9 status.
Secondly, can you decide what you want your car to be. At first it was a street driven monster(which was cooler than the trailored cars because you drove it to and form the track), then it was an all out track car when you started breaking driveline parts(that you trailored) as you stated that was what was nec. to keep up, now it's a street car again? Just confused as to what rules/specs you are building your car to now as it always seems to change, especially when there are other people going really fast too.

rh9 is very similar to the wild street class for mustangs. although there a little more strict. you have to go on a 30 mile cruise with your car, and during the cruise fill up the tank with pump gas. the car has to be legal for road use with full interior. must pass inspection. and after your cruise you are allowed no adjustments to suspension, boost, tires, (you can lower tire pressure), or ecu. then you race, and you follow up the race with another 30 mile cruise. a friend of mine where i used to live in pa was ranked #2 in the wild street class. the car was amazing clicking off several high 8 second passes.
but thats the mustang world, it is truly very impressive to pull it off with an evo or any other awd car.
congrats al im pretty damn impressed, now what you need to do is ditch the aem, and go back to a flash of your own and do it. j/k
oh btw al did you get my pm
thanks devin

At one point yes my car was a 10.1 second consistant road going daily driver
After picking up a few sponsors you start to want to do well at races so a trailer becomes a great help to the effort
Make no mistake - my Evo is still regularly street driven and could drive to LA and back anytime - its just that you would not want to drive that far in a car with sparco seats and a full cage - IMHO
As far as which rules / specs my car complies with
This weekend it was the WRX vs EVO shootout which required a street legal car on radial and a full exhuast
AMS was just there to do "exhibition" passes as they were not legal for the race rules
I dont want my evo to become a rolling publicity stunt and unable to compete in any races I regularly attend
I think you will discover that having a gutted out drag only evo on slicks is good for going very fast . . . . it is not legal for many forms of organized drag racing which generally stock do not allow such modifcations as lexan windows and running on staight alcohol in street class races
I built my car primarily to race it and that is what I contiunue to do - each series has its own set of rules and generally I modify the car to fit the rules of the race which this week took the addition of raial tires and a new alignment
