help me figure out what the %#&@ is wrong w/ me!
Last night went to the track w/ some other local evos, congrats to bigric09 on his 11.8 run. Anyways, I wasnt sure how the car would run but I know I should be running better times than I am.
I got in 8 runs all together. The 1st run was an easy run just to check boost & afr's, but 5 out of the other 7 runs I kept getting locked out of 2nd gear. My last 2 runs I shifted around 6800 in all gears and actually made it down the track w/out any problems. Do I just suck at shifting or what??? My average 60ft was 1.7 so I know Im launching alright and the car pulls really hard at the top end so mile Im assuming the problem is somewhere before the 1/8.
My mods are BR intake, JDM MR DV, 280i/e cams, 3" turbo-back exhaust w/ no cat, AMS licp, Walbro 255 fuel pump, ACT clutch & flywheel, removed restrictor pill, ss clutch line, underhood bushing, shifter base bushings, Perrin short shifter, and a Dynoflash custom tune @ 21 psi. Oh yeah, Im still running the stock turbo w/ 9.8 hotside.
My best run on the night was 12.9 @ 111 w/ a crappy 1.9 60ft. All my other runs were between 13.2-13.4 between 110-112 mph all spinning the tires off the line w/ 1.7-1.8 60fts.

Could get better 60 ft's but the problem that it looks like is that shifting to pull you through the track faster. I went to the track with a catback exhaust and k&n drop in filter running 13.2 and 13.3 @ 104.

Your trap speed is consistent with low 12's ( I ran easy 12.2 @ 111.6). I woudl think you arent banging the shifts hard enough. IF you are getting locked out of 2nd that can be at least 1/2 second. NDgsx ran 12.73 @ 105 on stock boost with a TBE, Filter, and 23psi with one of our tunes in his VIII.

i went to the track the other day, and i ran a 13.4 i have a 03 with stock 9.8hs. mods are MBC, LICP, & TBE. 13.4 @ 99.5 and 1.78 60ft. not to bad for ifts time. juet a littlle slow MPH.

sounds to me like it is shifting.... with all those mods and 93 octane.. you should be faster.. you might not like my suggestion, but let someone else that you know can drive, drive it and see... you might be humbled.. but you won't spend money on extra stuff to get you faster... then you'll know for sure.. oh and 8 passes... i'm sure you car was pretty hot by then end of the night!
